Futo Inu,
here is something I learned.
I use the address of the empty field accross the street where someone lived in another town...10 yrs ago.
I use an alias, with an alias addy on a web based acct I set up from a school computer...it gets mail once every 3 weeks to stay active...in the event the spam doesn't do so...oh a few of us this email alias and addy for the same reason...never from home pc tho. We just set up a new acct from time to time just for this purpose, online polls and such.
I hate to shop , but went with classmate to a chain store where she bought a computer..."we don't sell info" the sales reciept said. I had her use an apt # --she owns a house--sure enough slew of junk mail came to her house with that apt #, she then recieved some resitution. Real easy to prove.
Use a different Apt # for different things /stores if you own a home, rent a house, whatever. Real easy to see whom is sellling info, then check with local statutes.
I think that company is paranoid about apt #'s now
Her attorney thought-wow- what a great idea and he now does it. You see the mistake made was a debit /credit card info was traced back to them --a big no no selling this info, bigger no no if false charges are put onto acct later. You just gotta outta think them.
I was NW of Ayn Rand, getting pretty close to "feet wet".
