Where is your M642 when your asleep?

I keep mine (a cousin M637) loaded in an Uncle Mike's Sidekick with retension straps right next to my pillow as I sleep. Now I have a question.... Has any one ever heard of someone while sleeping acting out and discharging their firearm while asleep??

I suppose it's possible. Try not to think about it too much or you might do it. Power of suggestion and all that...

My 642 is in my safe when I sleep. If you don't have to carry it, why would you have anything but a 12 gauge next to the bed?

In my desk drawer in my office. There's a Kimber TacPro in the nightstand, and an H&K USP45C in the bedroom closet, and other misc. implements of destruction nearby . . . .

My S&W 642 is in a drawer, awaiting its next going out party~!

But, my .45 caliber SIG P220 (and Kimber Stainless Ultra Carry) are
in my computer chair, right next too my bed.

642 is in the safe when I don't have it on me. Within arms reach (in a quick access safe mounted to the headboard) is a Glock 19 powered by 9mm 124 gr. +P+ Gold Dots. I'm a fitful sleeper (toss and turn alot) so a gun under the pillow isn't an option. It would end up on either side of the bed on the floor.

Since you specifically asked about the M642, I keep it in an Uncle Mike's pocket holster in a pair of cargo shorts. Huh? Why?! 'Cause those shorts are what I'll pull on if "something goes bump in the night" and I'll then have a back-up to my .45 or 12 gauge (whichever was deemed appropriate) while I check things out.
