So I live in NYC where it is virtually impossible to buy ammo outside of my range, and their prices are getting kinda stiff. But I'm in Philadelphia on business for a while, and I know PA is a bit more shooter-friendly than NY (to say the least), I thought it might be a good opportunity to stock up on ammo.

My questions:

1. Can I buy ammo here with an out-of-state license? Is Philadelphia "proper" any different from the outlying counties in this regard?

2. Where can I get the best prices/selection? Wally World? I am downtown but anything within reasonable taxi distance is on the table.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Here in America, you don't need a license to buy ammo;)

Supplies are are low and tight allover, but odds are probably better that you'll find some (and cheaper) in Philly suburbs vs. metro NYC area.

Ammunition in Philadelphia

The best place to buy ammunition in Philadelphia is in Delaware. New Castle Delaware is about a half hour away. Millers Gun Center has ammunition, great guns and no sales tax. You better check if New Yorkers can buy there

what ammo are you looking for?

Want to stock up on 22. I can stomach paying $25 for a box of 45 at the range, but they want $7 for 50 rounds of 22- where are all these "bulk packs" of 550 rounds for $20 that I hear exist in other parts of the country??

Ever heard of google. But for your entertainment a bulk pack is not a brand it is how it is sold you know "BULK" almost all the popular american brands make a bulk pack of about 400-500 rounds for 20-25 bucks, a few foreign manufacturers do the same.

Xbox I got Winchester

Wildcat in Iowa for like $19 a brick about 10 days ago. The store was Scheels All-Sports, a chain from Montana to Midwest.
