I've been waiting to jump on one too, but I don't think it's going to happen....

Their going to get expensive . Since the CBOB as we now know them is being discontinued. Their will be like 200 made just for Ca. Their will be new and improved DW but with a nice price increase. Keep trying to find a 09 model or a good used one I bought mine in 08 and its a great pistol. I have considered having my LTW Commander bobbed and set up same way Its been a good pistol but the DW whips it on the range
Last ones Buds sold were $999

Smartshooter is right i picked one up from GB in december 09 for 899 shipped new in box you will be able to find one but i guess i just got lucky for that price and it wasnt a blem either but i see 2 10mm's on there right now..

I think CZ has gone and screwed up a good thing...

The DW CBOB is a great gun at $900 and they appear to have become the buzz of the biz with that package at that price.

Start talking $1,100 and $1,200 and you're in different territory... out of my reach.

but $1,295 won't get your a Fusion in stainless.... I corresponded several times with them and it's more like $1,495

Oh well... I blew it last January when I was one click away from buying a CBOB, but spent the money on a milling machine for hobby work instead....

I saw the Gun Broker auctions in December, but needed to wait for my Christmas bonus...

I missed getting one off a Guns America dealer for $975 by one day...

Now they're all gone... the CBOB is limited to CA dealers and the prices are going up, up, up...

I guess some dreams just weren't meant to be...

Plan 'B'

Get a Stainless Series 80 Colt Commander NIB for $750 and decide whether or not to get it bobtailed.

The post above is a good place to start, but one for less than $1000 may be hard to find. They've been discontinued for 2010 (except in CA for some reason) and are getting hard to find. Glad I got mine this past year. It's a great 1911 for $1000 or thereabouts.

thanks for responding Steve...

Unfortunately, I'm not interested in two tone, 10 mm or a $350 mark up.

One of the most frustrating things about GA is that many of the adds are listing guns that are long gone sold... but the add doesn't get removed.

I'm glad I had the opportunity to get one about 6 months ago. New or lightly used, for around 1k........I'd do it again without hesitation. I've never been much for the upper tier 1911's, that said, I can't imagine liking any 1911 as much as the CBOB.

Best,
Jerry

Kingofthehill:

Nice Bob job! I've been wanting to do that with my PM-7. Do you mind giving me your smith's contact info? I don't mind shipping out of state for quality work.
