Lots of great info guys, Thanks!
I know what a Savage can do since i have the .17HMR BTV and i modded the trigger a bit and its about 1.5lb pull with no nasty slam fires.
The issue is that gun would require extra cash and me selling something, Thus putting it in the same league money wise as the CZ.
I can Buy the MKII FV for $200 and add a Boyds stock down the road and have the same gun.
I here no talk about the CZ 455 coming out, Do you guys not like the idea of that gun or is it just lack of info?
Those surplus Kimbers are a steal and even tho i never bought a gun off line i have no issues doing since ive read about it so much on gun forums.
I think i would actually put it above the CZ, But i could be wrong?

SIBAISIA:

Under $500: Ceska Zbroyovska Uhersky Brod (take your pick on models). It probably will not be any MORE accurate than a Savage or Marlin, but it will equal them, with better fit/finish/aesthetics.

Higher to much higher budget: Anschutz

definitely a Savage MKII

very accurate, nice trigger (get one with an accutrigger), and well under $500. You could probably get three for the price, or at least a ton of bricks and a nifty scope setup

My Savage Mark II BTV will hang in there with most of the high dollar bench rest guns at all the fun matches I have been to. The last two months I have came in third and fourth place. Both times only two points and some X's from 1'st place. The rifles that won had a min. of $1500 in them. I have $400 in rifle and scope. Just my .02c

Just bought a CZ-452 Ultra Lux with 28.6" barrel. Put an old Tasco World Class 3-9 scope on it with Millet rings. At 50 yards I am getting groups from .3-.5" from bench with sand bags. I've tried about 10 different types of ammo. It seems to like CCI Green Tags, Win Wildcats, PMC Sidewinders, CCI MiniMags, and Fed Lightning 40gr solids. Doesn't like Blazer bulk, Fed 36gr bulk, or Rem Golden bullets. I have a new trigger kit that I'll be installing tommorow. Hopefully, when the Sportsmans Warehouse opens next month, they'll have some decent scopes on special. I paid $375.00 for the rifle at Bud's Police Supply here in Lexington.FWIU, this is the last year of production for the CZ-452. All CZ bolt .22s, .22 WMRs, and .17 production will be consolidated in the new CZ-455 with interchangeable barrels.
