I have decided to take the plunge and buy a .308 can to hunt with. I have 4 rifles I would like to use it with. An LR-308b, AR in 7.62x39, an S&W MP-15 5.56, and a Remington 700.

Is there a suppressor available that I could use with all these rifles? I have read about the QD attachments but am not familiar with exactly how they work, and what I would need to do to my rifles to allow for the attachments.

Thanks!

http://www.libertycans.net/mystic.html is one that's multi-use

QD i don't know much about but with the mystic it uses different adapters threaded for your various rifles. If they're not all threaded all ready, you can have them all cut to the same pitch so you only need one adapter. make sure you check tightness/retighten a can every magazine

This is what QD mount avoids (assuming the mount is put on correctly).

I've a Gemtech HVT-QD and adapters to use in on my: Draco-C 7.62x39 AK SBR, AR 7.62x39 SPR, AR 7.62x39 carbine, SIG 556R, Kel-Tec RFB, RRA LAR-8 and DPMS LR-308. I also have an adapter to use it on a 5.56x45 AR, but its actually louder shooting 5.56 than .308 so I'm ordering a HALO for my .223s instead of buying more adapters for .223.

I scarfed up one of my wife's old oven mitts so I can move the can among different rifles in a shooting session.

The smallest POA/POI shift with/without the can appears to be with the SIG 556R, second smallest the the AR 7.62x39 AR, The largest shift appears to be with the Draco-C SBR.

Thanks! I have been looking at the Gemtech. I think i am going to go that route. I just need to get my paperwork in order and wait! I am kicking myself I didn't think about doing this sooner, so I will have it to use for deer season in November.

I live in Houston too.. (The Woodlands)

Brilliant. Those buggers do get warm.

Dreaming now of marketing the "tactical oven mitt". ;)

Just dont get caught up in Gemtech recall of HVT's. recall notice went out in April. and said they will return in 2 to 3 weeks. Ha factory still has not returned all recalled.
Reason for recall bad welds.
This may tell you something about Gemtech as a company.

the sandstorm, thunderbeast and sas arbiter have made my top 3. I'm leaning toward teh arbiter based on cost......

Get the Thunderbeast, your most likely going to have this can for the rest of your life, don't buy a sub standard product because you want to save a couple hundred bucks, the first time you go to a range and somebody else there has a good can your going to regret not spending the extra money.

I have shot the Thunderbeat and the gemtech .30 cal cans, there is no comparison, price wise the gemtech is cheaper, and with most things firearms related, you get what you pay for.

I still haven't bought a suppressor. I was doing research on the thunderbeast, anyone have the .30-b that has the quick attach with the muzzle break? I plan on using it with 4 rifles, and would like to be able to attach it quickly.

I picked up one of these "Pit Mitt" type barbque gloves. Use it for the grill and for the suppressors. It's like the tactical ove glove.

I would go with either a YHM 762Ti or a Liberty Freedom QA (theres a mag version also if you need it) the Liberty can use the YHM mounts also

Thunderbeast 30BA . Grab different thread pitched brakes for your sub calibers, 223 and ssuch. Then enjoy what you have. Like was said before, there's no comparison

Just realize that YHM is currently filling orders placed in February. So if you were to order one today expect about a 6 month wait. This is of course in addition to the ATF Form 4 wait that would follow.

@Captain i have gotten my 762 and 556Ti cans that i ordered in April the 556 last i checked were still in stock the 762Ti were sold out and i got one of the ones from the 2nd batch of this year and they are now working on the 3rd batch right now and i probably wont get the 762Ti i have ordered in that batch probably november the earliest

The 556 and 762Ti cans i ordered in April i got in late August, Theres only one guy in charge of the NFA so it can take awhile to get everything logged in and out, people dont realize the NFA realm is nothing but a big game of hurry up and wait

It seems to vary be dealer, by my experience is not uncommon. If the dealer already has the can in stock or has an exiting order, this doe not apply. I have spoken with YHM a few times in the past few months and they confirm the wait. It seems to be longer for the Ti cans too.

Thunderbeast is the way to go. Just because the owner of the company is THR staff does not mean this is a biased recommendation either -- I've seen the accuracy of TB equipped rifled at > 1,500 yards, and I can't imagine using a different suppressor.
