Which .45?

Now I wish I had put the CZ97B on the list. It sounds like just the gun I'm looking for. I still want a Glock, though. Maybe later this year I think I'll try to pick up a G36 for CCW.

I like my P97 even though I'm really a revolver person.

Only problem I have with it is that all 5 (Ruger factory) mags hang up on the top round when dropping them on a not empty mag. (there's a thread here somewhere about it).

Doesn't affect the ops of the pistol, though.

Slap on some cocobolo on this and you'll be happier than any of those other guns you mentioned. It's in the same ballpark price wise, too. XD-45? Please. If you want an automatic .45, you need a 1911. You'll be doing yourself a great disservice by avoiding them. Those other guns are just tools. A 1911-A1 is a work of art.

45 Pistol

Another vote for the CZ97B. It is my favorite 45acp pistol and I have Ruger, Kimber, Colt and Smith & Wesson 45s. In fact, the 97B is my favorite CZ and I have a bunch of them.

After spending the better part of a week shopping for a CZ97B at a reasonable price I started getting frustrated. I was seriously considering either an SA 1911 Mil Spec or a Magnum Research Baby Eagle .45 when I ran across a sweet deal on a perfect Glock 21 (non-C). If it is still there after work, it will be mine.
