My next rifle purchase will be a 6.5 creedmoor. I just don't which to get. It will be for bench rest shooting. In the savage line does the accustock matter vs non accustock? Does the ruger compare is it better or worse? I'm not sure if tikka or others have the creedmoor. I would like to shoot long range with it this summer in Missouri.

My 6.5 Creedmoor is a Ruger Hawkeye Predator. I don't have it yet as it's still on layaway. I did a lot of research, the Ruger seemed to fit my needs perfectly so that's why I decided to go with it. It has a 24in medium profile barrel that will benefit long range shooting when needed and it still isn't a 1000 pound bench gun. It's a duel purpose rifle for me. I wanted a rifle I could hunt with and could do some target work as well. Every review of the Ruger that I read had been extremely positive with every report exhibiting extreme accuracy as well.

If I was looking for strictly a bench rifle I would have went with the Savage 12 LRP in 6.5 creedmoor.

So depending on which role you're wanting to fill with your new rifle I would suggest looking at either the Ruger Hawkeye Predator for a general use rifle or the Savage 12 Long Range Precision for a benchrest/varmint.

EDIT: Just reread your post and saw where I overlooked the part where you stated the rifle was for benchrest. In that case I would definitely recommend the Long Range Precision from Savage.

Savage LRP no question. Mine in 260 shoots like a custom costing thousands more.

I got my 6.5 CM before Christmas. Got the scope in February. My first trip out with it Besides my home range of 100 yards I was ringing steel at 550 with a ten mile an hour wind. No one else was hitting and I could hardly miss. Out of thirty rounds I only missed twice and it was all 8" round. I was calling misses and still hitting! It is a great rifle. I would highly recommend it as you can see. I have two friends looking to order one now!

Thanks for the info! I just need to order the bullseye camera system to go along with it and I will be ready!!!
