Do all Saigas have the Warning sign on the receiver? Warning: read manual and so on?? I held one Saiga and the warning sign on an AK is just a thing I would never get over.
Get a SSR-85.
You'd take a rifle made of rejected parts because you don't like some rollmarks? Warnings on firearms are a fact of life.

Arsenal. Buy quality ONCE.
. . and possibly send it back many times . . .

Arsenals marketing department has done a good job of selling the point that "Arsenal produces the excellentest guns evar.", but it just ain't so.

How often do you buy and return arsenal aks? Are you rightly in a position to speak? I PERSONALLY have bought none, but have only heard 1 thing negative about them. I am about to buy one for my next gun, so I have asked alot about them. The negative info was from a man on this forum and he had sight canting. http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=379408 I dont know everything but Im sure from time to time even quality manufacturers put out a dud.

dewage, this is a general interest 2A forum. We just hit the tips of all the icebergs here, for the most part.

If you want to know about Kalashnikov rifles, visit a dedicated Kalashnikov forum.

There are numerous reports of problematic Arsenals at http://www.akfiles.com and http://www.theakforum.net (and probably other dedicated Kalashnikov forums, too)

And yes, I've owned several. To me they are overpriced for what they are. I've since sold all mine to folks who wanted them more than I did.

I generally HATE warnings on guns, but I kind of like the one on the Saiga, because it's almost ironic. I mean, in the history of the AK-47, how many people have actually read a manual to learn how to operate it? I think we all pretty much learned it the same way Russian, Vietnamese, and Chinese peasants did- by example.

OP here....I don't have a budget, but AK to me is getting a quality gun (well, quality is all relative, but shooting flawless for me is quality) for CHEAP, so although I can afford a $1000 AK, I would rather get it cheaper. Arsenal, IMHO, is way overpriced for what it is. Since I'll be modding the furniture significantly, I rather not pay top $$$ for a complete gun that I'm gonna take apart anyway.

ChiCom AK

If you have the cash get yourself a nice pre ban Norinco or Poly Tech, keep it stock or modify it.
Their value increases daily, they have thicker stamped receivers and heavier chrome lined barrels.

My Norinco & Poly Tech

I havn't seen a warning sign on my Saiga. Where would it be?

Perhaps my POSP is covering it up.
