Which ammo is better?

I know none are great... but which would likely cycle better in a Stag AR with CL barrel 1:9 twist

Silver Bear 62grn Boat Tail JHP
Brown Bear 62grn Semi-Jacketed Soft Point
Wolf Military Classic 55grn FMJ

Is there any difference between silver and brown bear besides one is jhp and one is a soft point?

if i'm not mistaken, and i may be, silver bear has a zinc coated steel casing and the brown bear has a laquer or polymer coated steel case similar to Wolf.

Yeah, I think your right.
#1 is zinc coated
#2 is lacquer coated
#3 is poly coated

Just get whatever is cheapest, they should all work the same.

I think the Wolf Military Classic is lacquer coated, it's the newer stuff (in the black box) that's polymer. Personally i'd stay away from lacquer coat in an AR type weapon. I haven't tried Silver Bear in my SKS but the newer polymer coated Wolf does not gunk up the chamber at all, and the lacquer seemed to.

hmmm, I dont think soo, I just ordered 500 rds of military classic polymer coated, and theyare not in black boxes


Wolf doesent make laquer coated rounds any more...


Is there any way to tell if they are laquer coated?
