Which brand of red dot/reflex sight is better?

I am looking for cheap red dot/reflex sights to put on my slug gun, possibly to put on a .22lr as well. I cannot afford an EOtech or anything near that price range. I am looking at a few different brands, wondering which you have experience with and would reccommend.
The brands I have are Aim Sports, Barska, Sightmark, NC Star, or Centerpoint. Someday I might have the money to get a really nice reflex sight like an EOtech, but for now this will have to suffice.

If you are looking for a "budget" level red dot my recommendation would be "none of the above"

My advice is to get a red dot from Primary Arms. https://www.primaryarms.com/default.asp

They have some very tough RD sights for good prices. They also have great customer service and a solid warranty.

I have 3 of their products mounted on .22s and 20 ga. slug guns and none have ever failed in 5 years of tough use.

Your poll should be a list of what not to buy, if you want a low price dot primary arms is the only way to go.

I've had a BSA and a couple other "cheap" red dots... all were total garbage. I learned my lesson. One primary arms is worth all of them combined.

Don't buy cheap crappy optics. It doesn't end up being cheap in the end. IMO

Yep, the list is almost all junk.

The Sighmark is the best of the litter, but it isn't close to the Primary Arms products.

"Best" is a matter of personal choice.

I was not referring to the higher end and more expensive brands that PA also carries.

There are currently 3 sights in a variety of mounts. Which one you pick is determined by, among other things, what you intend to mount it on.

However, if I was mounting it on an AK receiver or trunion/ gas tube cover rail or on any standard type rifle or shotgun receiver then the first one above would be my choice.

I Have heard great things about the PA sights...I also wouldn't hesitate to buy a Vortex

I've got a truglo dot I'd let go real cheap. I replaced it with a bushnell tr-25. smaller nicer optic and much cleaner dot. The truglo has more of a 6moa dot, while the bushnell and millet dots in the $80 range are crisp and round.

My brother has a tasco red dot on a 22 that wanders a bit and needs to be re-zeroed every few months.

PA is supposed to be a decent dot and I've yet to see any vortex product that wasn't a great value.

Vortex SPARC or Lucid HD7 are about as cheap as I'd go on a centre-fire.

I agree with all of the above, Primary Arms are the best low-cost dot sights IMO.

I have had some BSA's before, and they just aren't quality. I dropped my .22 sight first on a bed from about 2ft. high, and the zero shifted 3in. at 25yd.!!!!!

Whatever you put on a slug gun, you will know very soon if it is recoil proof or not .

Vortex and Primary Arms are good choices.

Ultradot. Go to a bullseye match sometime....see what they are using on the line. Its all ultradots. They are so good, I have five of them on my guns. Get a used ultradot and skip the cheap optics.
