I'm considering another 22 auto pistol. Checked the Browning site and discovered many different Buckmark models. The Hunter model caught my eye, plus I've handled one at the gunstore. Would like to have for close varmint hunting. Is this a good auto pistol?

You bet, the Browning BuckMark is an excellent .22 caliber pistol.
However, I like the BuckMark Plus SE model with the Tru-Glo fiber
optic front sight and the laminated Rosewood/Marble grips. The
fiber optic front sight gathers a lot of light, thus making it quite
easy for these old eyes to see.

The Buck Mark is a splendid pistol. I have the TruGlo front sight on mine- search under my name and 'buck mark' to see one like it. Mine has the round barrel like the Camper model and is a two-tone, silver frame, black upper with laminated black/grey grips.

I can easily hammer out 50 round groups at 50 yards that will rarely stray outside of a 3 inch circle without any strain from offhand. It's like a laser.

I just stuck a Hakko-type sight on it for giggles. I can't wait for it to quit raining so I can get out and play with it.

Sheriff Jim Wilson wrote a review of the lineup awhile back. You can see it from the Gallery of Guns website. I'm sure you're going to get a lot of positive responses from people who own them around here. They're pretty popular, with only a few of us who have had any problems with them- mostly related to extraction and the screws on the top of the receiver, which can be fixed with a little blue Loctite.

Regards,
Rabbit.
