Which glock aftermarket barrel

I have a 6" ported Storm Lake for my G20 and am very happy with it. A friend got a LW for his G20. The SL seems to have better support and is very accurate. After having shot both in a type of gun, I would suggest sticking with Storm Lake.

I went storm lake. Had to send it back to have the chamber opened up a bit. Still waiting to get it back but it wasn't chambering factory ammo.

Guess the really tight chambering is not limited to Lone W...

I've had two Lone Wolf barrels now and have been quite displeased with both of them. The first, a .40 S&W, was a random pattern generator on target. Wouldn't shoot worth a damn with any ammo. Also, the chamber support was no better than my Gen 3 Glock factory barrel. Talked to LW and they said "Yeah, we have an idea what the problem is, probably just needs a few file strokes". Unfortunately, that barrel was in a range bag that was stolen, so I never had a chance to let them fix it. Then I got another one, this time a 40-9 conversion, and it seems to shoot ok for one magazine and then sprays bullets high and right (and I'm right-handed) for the next.

But hey, they're cheap. Next barrel I get will be a Storm Lake.

Really? Below are Lone Wolf G23/G27 40S&W barrels compared to factory Gen3 Glock 23/27 barrels. Due to better support down the case base and chamber tightness, the Lone Wolf spent cases do not bulge like the cases in the picture below shot in Glock barrels. Depending on the generation of Glock 40S&W barrels, cases will bulge in varying amount (also dependent on ammunition/powder/charges).

Do keep in mind that other brand 40S&W pistols will also bulge cases, depending on the looseness of the chamber -

I have several Lone Wolf and KKM barrels for G22/G23/G27 in 40S&W and 9mm conversion and they shoot as accurate as factory barrels or more accurate with jacketed/plated/lead/Moly coated lead bullets. The G22 Lone Wolf 40-9 conversion barrel shoots on par with KKM conversion barrel.

Glock 22 with stock trigger and Lone Wolf 40-9 conversion barrel - Target squares are 1"x1" and shot at 15 yards off hand (all rounds loaded to 1.135" OAL) - http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?p=7266869#post7266869

Don't know what to tell you. My factory barrel shoots jacketed/plated/cast like a champ. Shoots to point of aim, and half the group size of most of the targets you posted. The 40 LW barrel wouldn't even keep them all on a single sheet of paper at 15 yds. This 40-9 conversion barrel I have now, it will shift the point of impact of the group literally 4-5" right and up from 15 yards. I don't think I could even account for that by adjusting the sights.

Guess I just got the two worst barrels they've manufactured...

Well I got my barrel back this week. Have not had a chance to shoot it but I am definitely NOT happy with Storm Lake. They stamped the barrel G23 9MM....problem is my gun is a .40. Their response to me in short was "Sorry, it can be buffed off we use a buffing wheel but I am sure a local gunsmith could easily do it for me."

Not my idea of good customer service. For what it has already cost me to ship back to them once I could have bought a KKM.

I replied to April's message detailing what a poor experience I had and inquired about their return policy. I think I would rather spend my money with a different company.

Sorry for the rant.

That is really poor service. I have been pleased with my lone wolf

You should call back and ask to speak with a soup. That's just not acceptable. Ask them to fix the problem and pick up shipping both ways. What's this world coming to ?

That Wolf cartoon scratches the hell out of the slide

I was shooting the stock Glock barrel in my 17L for hundreds of rounds, probably 600 or 700 rounds and there was hardly any wear visible on the barrel or the slide.

I purchased a 9" Lonewolf barrel and put 50-rounds through it and it took th finish of the inside top of the slide.

It's not a huge deal - I mean the slide is going to get wear eventually but to wear the finish down that quickly because the barrel hood has a scratchy cartoon wolf engraved in it is annoying.

Well, the Glock slide surface is hardened with Tenifer process so it is harder than Lone Wolf barrel stainless steel. All it did was remove the paint finish that's applied over the Tenifer hardening treatment.

I can't speak for using longer than stock barrels but below are Glock 27/23/22 slides and stock length Lone Wolf G27/23/22 40S&W/40-9 conversion barrels after 10s of thousands of rounds shot through them.
