Okay, I see your point. Well, my answer probably isn't going to make things any easier for you! Like you, I have more guns than time to shoot. I've come to the point where when I do make another purchase it will be for one reason only: to obtain something of really high quality. My advice (response would be a better word, really) would be to discuss having a custom 1911 made for you. You could talk to Ed Brown if you like his work. Or, one of many other quality smiths. Be prepared to wait and spend more than for an off-the-rack gun. But, in the end you'll have something really nice that you'll always cherish. Keep ONE of your current pistols for shooting, CCW or whatever. Sell the other and take a hard look at the rest of your collection. Prune out what is only mediocre and get yourself something for the ages!
