Which handgun "PURCHASED NEW" was the best value for the money

T/C Contender in 7mm TCU with a set of Hornady dies. By definition maybe not a new gun because it had been in private hands, but the pistol was unfired and the dies were still in plastic wrap. The asking price was 480 euros but to my surprise I was able to haggle it down to 380. In my neck of woods that's a good deal.

My browning buckmark stainless, got it as a package on sale for 279, it came with 3 magazines and a soft case.

Got a new series 70 GC,I think in '82? As an anniversary present from wifeypoo. Don't shoot it a lot because of other 1911's but it is stupid accurate with #68 H&G 200's backed by 5g 231. It was 400$.

Have been shooting it some the last month or so.

Not sure how to gauge value but for fun I'd say the $260 S&W 2206 has yet to disappoint. Those in the midrange that I liked were $300-$360 in the 90's. The Sig 2022 for $425 was a good value in more recent times. Based on inflation, prices are pretty similar.

I paid $320 for an LCP back in 2010. No, that's far from a deal, but they were hot then and you couldn't do a whole lot better at the time.

But I carried that little gun far more often than any of my other larger conceal carry guns. I shot it a decent amount too, at least for a mouse gun. Eventually it started to start feeling pretty loose and I was on the search for a replacement, when it finally locked up with an empty case in the chamber last summer (2019). I called Ruger, they asked for it and sent me a new one shortly after. The replacement is even something I'd call accurate; last time I was at the range with it I was plinking steel at 15 yards, with my old LCP I wouldn't have even bothered to attempt such a thing past 5-7 yards.

Honorable mention to my Buckmark. I used to be a HORRIBLE shot with a handgun. I took some of my rewards points at Bass Pro and got this Buckmark, paid $179 of my cash for it. For an entire summer I didn't pick up another handgun, and who knows how many brick's of .22 went through the gun in that time. I bet my groups were 1/4 the size at the end of that summer, maybe smaller. Not long after I slapped the red dot on it for my step daughter and taught her to shoot a handgun. I haven't completely lost it to her yet, but I can tell my days with it are numbered!

Not very many "purchased new" in the safe. I'll put the Browning Buckmark Plus at the top of the short list.

"Best value for the money?"

That could easily be my Bersa Thunder 22 and Thunder 380,,,
I purchased them at the same time for almost identical money.

Brand new I paid $259 for the .22 and $269 for the .380,,,
That was a few years back though.

The .22 had in excess of 5,000 rounds through her when I quit counting,,,
The .380 easily has well over 1,000 rounds as I've gone through the 20 boxes I bought with the pistol and then some.

The .22 is my newbie training pistol as well as my primary practice pistol,,,
The .380 is my Every Day Carry for self defense

I didn't know much about these pistols when I bought them,,,
Just that a very knowledgeable friend recommended them to me,,,
I ordered the .22 first and after a week of shooting her I ordered the .380 as well.

I have been impressed by their overall performance,,,
As well as their pleasing aesthetics.

So even though I own pistols with more famous names,,,
These two silver ladies could easily be the "Best value for the money".

Best value for the money?

CZ-Tactical Sport = $1300.00 out performs everything in the safe.

ACW Prime = $2700.00 better fit and finish than guns costing 1.5x its asking price.

Value wise my gen 4 Glock 19. Paid $525 worth $800-$1000.

What is your drug of choice?

G4 is outside of any preban state, discounting any "Ban" anomalies like MA, CT, CA etc.

Now pandemic pricing if u find a sucker go for it. I could pay MSRP from a variety of sources but thats too much for a glock.

Desperate times calls for desperate people. I would never sell it. Even for $1000.00. Jump on GunBroker and see how much they are going for nowadays.

A high bid on GB doesn't mean the seller actually got paid...
Like I said I get daily emails for Glocks at MSRP. If you think you can flip it for that much try it.. You can pick up 2 for that asinine price

Never said I would sell it. And a few weeks month ago. They were selling for that. But like I said I will never sell mine.

Interesting thread and enjoy all comments. Best nib was a CZ 75. Bought just before Clinton’s mag cap ban. Best value is a second gen colt match target with a 4” barrel. Not new but in the box with two mags and original paperwork. Traded for a brake job on a caddie. Nicest tool in my safe. Mike

One of my purchases this year was the best value in a new gun for me. It was a Springfield Armory XD-45 Mod 2 Tactical, 5" barrel, with fiber optic front sight and two 13 round magazine that was $399.
