I just purchased a new Ruger Vaquero 5 1/2" .357 Stainless. Who has a leather holster for theirs that they really love? Im not really looking for a cowboy rig, because I will sometimes wear from my house to the range, and sometimes for woods carry, but something western looking wood be nice. I like to use a regular (good quality) belt so I can also carry my Buck 105 knife. Who can recommend something? Pics would be great. Thanks

Mernickle Holsters are some of the best. Simply rugged are also very nice.

this is for my ruger SBH from mernickle its a cross draw

As a brand new newbie here but an oldie to the whole gun thing I strongly second Mernickle.

Very good people to deal with. Bob and Sheryl are loaded with integrity and want happy customers.

I have one for my Vaquero and it's excellent.

I also have one for my 1911 that I carry every day, the PS6 I think they call it.

The other is a PS6 but I think they call it something else since it's a SA revolver rig. Web site is worth a look, lots of great looking cowboy rigs.

Thanks for the suggestions all. Im going to check them all out. Iron, I purchased one of Rugers holsters for my Bearcat, but it has a severe forward cant. Its uncomfortable to wear when riding in my Teryx, which I ride from my house to my gun club property. The holster they offer for the vaquero appears to be the same, however the price is good. I don't know if they will with the Vaquero, but the last new Ruger I bought came with a 20% off coupon

Have you looked at a DeSantis Doc Holliday ? I have one for my Birds Head New Vaquero, and it worked out really well.
They are reasonably priced (LA Police Gear has them on sale right now for under $50).

I have a western rig from DeSantis for my Vaquero that's been great. If I were looking for something more like a field/hunting holster I would go with a Bianchi Model 1L Lawman.

I chose a Triple K Keegan Crossdraw to carry my Vaquero "farm gun".
Crossdraw keeps it of the way when sitting or crouching, but keeps it accessable at the same time.
