I'm thinking of hosting a party and am wondering if I should keep it "cozy" and only invite 9 friends, or should I go for all out bash and invite 45 folks?

;)

Seriously, here's a real question:

For those of you with significant others- if you both have guns of your own, what do you each have?

Do you shoot each other's guns?
Do you have the same kind of gun, or share guns interchangeably?
Do you have different preferences or "philosophies" in your preference of gun?
Have your tastes in guns changed over the years- did one of you "convert" to the other's type of gun?

Do you have any pics you'd like to share? :D

.

Prefer pretty much the same guns seem to prefer Autos but like a little of everything

Go big and invite 223

I am wondering if I should get a wheelgun, or another auto.

Right now I have a 1911 and some SIGs.

I am looking into one of the following:

S&W J-Frame
Another 1911
Glock 19
Hk USP Compact

Any suggestions?

My wife and I share the guns. Actually, to be more specific, I buy them and she somehow ends up shooting them.

You know.....what's mine is her's and what is her's is her's.

You have to pick your battles sometimes. Having said that she seems to want to get more trigger time with my Kimber. There I have to draw the line. She needs to get her own. Sometimes I think the only reason I bought a Glock 21 was because I knew it would not fit her hand (knowning I would lose the battle over the Kimber and at least have something for me to shoot).

BTW, I think you could fit a few more people into the party. Say like 338?

Get a Beretta or a Glock.

The fiancee and my father are wheelgunners. She thinks that only revolvers look like "real" guns and says that they're sexy...:D
The only revolver I'll ever buy is a 9mm just for the novelty of having one to load my auto caliber cartridges in.

They both agree that wood furniture looks classy and that synthetic on shotguns and rifles is "Scary." All of my long arms except the Marlin 60 are "socialized." I tried to put a pistol gripped synthetic stock on the Marlin, but it was just stupid looking.

I'd go 45 friends, but 9 mm.

My hubby and I share guns. If one goes to the range so does the other. Although typically dad takes us. We play with his toys and he plays with ours. :neener:

Jon(my hubby) has a gun he calls his since I gave it to him as a wedding present. Also I have one dad still calls his, but we'll see. :D :neener:

Gus

her- Glock 19 primary and 26 as a back up
me- Glock 19 primary and 26 as a back up

why? ammo/mag sharing from gun to gun and from her to me.

AHHH, togetherness. How nice!

My wife and I have to share and she doesn't like the current gun, which happens to be a .45. When I can buy another gun I plan to get a 9mm and both of us will enjoy it.

My wife and I both settled on Glocks going on 2yrs now. We have 2 17's and a 26. I carry a 17, we have a 17 as a "house gun" or spare if needed, and her preferred is the 26 since she has way small hands. In good weather we try to shoot about 300rnds\month. Winter is about 50rnds\month. I also believe in shot placement and the G17 allows me to get 3-5rnds on target and placed properly compared to other calibers I've tried. My wife handles the fullsize 17 fairly well but it would be very hard for her to carry it concealed, hence the 26. We tried .40 and .45 in years past, and while I like the .45acp alot and shoot it well, we decided to go with one caliber for ease of practice\ammo, etc.

Buy both.
Use one caliber during the week and use the other on the weekend because both are just as good as the other.

While I appreciate all weapons, I am a 1911, cocked and locked kind of guy.

My wife is a DAO, point and shoot, six fer shure kind of gal.

Oddly, I enjoy shooting her SIG more than she does. (But I shoot everything in the house more often than she does.)

Also oddly, when it comes to rifles, I tend to like modern "tech" guns, and she goes for the older looking classic stuff. Kinda flip-flopped from our pistol preference.

Don't know if she prefers 12ga pump or auto-loader, I prefer pump, (But won't turn my nose up at a good auto.)

As for caliber sharing, I could see buying her a CZ75D and myself a CZ75B. Then we could share mags. Or maybe we could meet each other halfway with the SIG226, (I can give up the external safety if I can keep an SA pull on all but the first shot.)

I have a bunch of guns that she can shoot anytime she wants. The only one that is all hers is her Walther P22. We were fortunate enough to get one that works 100%.
