Which is better-looking to you?

Well, I got the first one because it was for sale for $350.



The second one wasn't for sale. I got the pic off of Rugerforum. The guy had a 5-1/2" Super Blackhawk cut down to 4-5/8" and added the stag grips.



I prefer the looks of the second one, but for $350, I'm not really complaining about the first one.

The MoP looks a little lost on the silver gun. I think it would stand out more if there were more color in the MoP or if it was used on a blued or at least color case hardened frame.

The stag looks great on the silver gun though.

And if it counts for anything I'm a fluted fan as well. But I thought this was just about the grips.

Oh yeah, definitely the stag/fluted situation for sure. My wife did comment that the pearl handle was very pretty though.

Niether grip looks good. Put the wood ones back on.

I'm with Brazos on that. The pearls do not fit the grip frame very well, if I had to choose then the stags, but hey don't fit well either.

I like the traditional checkered hard rubber grips on s SAA. I would choose #2 over the pearl/non-fluted revolver however. Stag has a certain appeal to me. I use it almost exclusively as knife handles. Warm and rustic all at the same time.

Neither pearl nor stag appeal to me, but I will confess to liking non-fluted cylinders more than fluted ones.

I've always liked the unfluted 4 5/8. Have never owned one, have no "need" for one, but have always "wanted" one. I like the way it looks.

If I had to pick and both were the same price = #2 !!!
I do not like anykind of smooth grips on a handgun , even a .22rf.
A "knarly" pair of prime Stag grips are great as they look good , age well , and you can still get a good hand-hold if they become wet with blood or rain etc.
I also like the "looks"of a fluted cyld. BUT for HOT LOADS you get the extra metal with a unfluted cyld.

Grips aside they both look very similar. I am not big on pearl handled grips so the second one looks better.

Grips ... definitely the stag.

Cylinders ... I like fluted AND unfluted ... it just depends on the revolver in question. In this case I agree that the fluted looks better but some engraving on the unfluted would help a lot.

I have a pair of Bisley Blackhawks that came with unfluted cylinders in .45 Colt and fluted cylinders in .45 ACP ... the unfluted cylinders look better. The SRH "Alaskan" I bought recently has an unfluted cylinder and it looks incredible. However, both the Blackhawk and the SRH have machined engraving on the cylinders which helps break up the monotony.
