PM 9 or PM 40? Both are pocket guns with nearly identical dimensions. 5.3" long, 4" high, .9-.94" wide, 16-17 oz. The PM 9 gives one more round capacity (7+1 with extended mag).

I've got more handguns than I need, but no pocket guns. And I want one. My problem is that I've heard the 9mm PM9 is more reliable than the PM40. I've also heard this was only true when the PM40's were first intro'd. I'd buy the PM40 if I could convince myself it was reliable. I do know that Kel-Tec discontinued their small 40 because of reliability problems.

Any help here?

I used to pack an MK40 ... I can't imagine shooting .40 out of a lighter/smaller gun and still enjoying it.

If you want a PM, go for the 9, if you want a .40 go for the MK

I have a PM9 that I really love, but I am going to sell it for a smaller on duty back up gun. I have had excellant results out of my 9mm PM9. I have heard the PM40 is a handful of recoil though. You will not go wrong with the 9mm version, mine is real accurate out to 50 feet. Good luck!!

I'd get the PM9 over the .40.

I can comfortably shoot a couple hundred rounds out of my PM9 with no real problems. That makes for some really good practice definitely helps build your confidence in the weapon. The ability to perform a controlled double tap consistently under pressure is important to me. Especially since you are already underpowered with a handgun.

I've shot the MK40 and don't want to shoot a PM40!

Good Shooting

What's smaller than a Kahr PM9 or PM40? Or are you willing to order a Rorhbaugh sight unseen for ~$1000?

For CCW, IMHO no brainer to get the .40 bigger holes are better holes.

I had no troube doing the 200 round break in during a single range session with my PM40. Its a real pussycat compared to my S&W SC360 scandium .357 mag.
