i am not a fan of CLP.
I have been using LSA forever, but my supply is gone and I recently tried Machine Gunners Lube and was incredibly impressed. I also tried slip2000 EWL and it's pretty good too. both are better than LSA and much better than CLP

What Chris Rhines said, although I have been using SLIP 2000 myself. It is not a petroleum based lubricant, so I can dispose of it in my sink (if need be); but it still meets the MIL-PRF-63460D spec for CLP.

FP-10 has been my choice and has worked fine for me in three different AR's, not to mention all my pistols, other semi-autos, etc. etc.

another vote for Militec-1 and give it the heat treatment first time out.
(see their website)

Never had a problem with clp. From what I've read most people "in the know" use miltec-1 or CLP. I haven't tried miltec simply because CLP has worked fine for me.

Actually CLP might be a bit better in a "normal environment" use and a bit better at rust prevention, if using a non chrome bolt, especially in humid and or salt water environments, the militec-1 seems to be better at working in the fine grit sand environment but lacks a little of the rust preventative qualities of CLP. Which is why I think the military still goes with CLP, it covers more environments, but may not be the best choice in certain extreme conditions.

As far as synthetic oils go, I like castrol syntec 5-50W, seems to cling just a little bit better and at $5.00 a quart it goes a long way.

I'm going to join the CLP side. I've been using it on both my shotgun and AR since I purchased them and I've never had a problem

Sarco has LSA. I bought two quarts. The stuff is made in Germany, packaged in standard GI cans. Must be stuff the military bought from a German supplier.

LSA is an excellent lubricant for the AR15. I use it all the time, except when I am using Mobil 1 or Castroil Sythetic motor oil.
