which one?

There are a few in this thread who simply drop in to say "get something else", or "get something with a 'real' brand name", but they don't say why, or what their personal experiences with the models about which the OP inquired were.

OP, I can tell you with full confidence that the Phoenix HP22 is exactly what they claim it is. I have purchased 4 of them now. One for each adult member of my immediate family. Mine has at least 2k rounds through it. My wife probably 2k through hers and both of my kids around 1k. You do NOT need to replace any parts every 500 rounds and if using appropriate ammo you don't need to worry about cracking anything. They run very well on ammo around 1250fps. Running the low noise slow movers it will fail. Running the hyper velocity stuff you shorten the life of the gun. On the bright side, new factory mags cost $11.00. And you can order any part from the factory and they are all CHEAP. The finish on our nickle plated guns has peeled around the muzzles but the black finished guns seem to be holding up better. The mag safety is very easy to remove. Are they low budget? Yes. Are they a Colt or Ruger? No way. Are they a good range toy? Heck yes. If you can handle one before you buy it check it out. They aren't too shabby for the price.

I have been looking for a small 22lr handgun and have come across the choice of two in my area. i don't want to spend a lot on a small gun as it won't be shot much at all, just taken out every now and then to have a little fun. my choices are a used taurus pt22 looks like stainless for $225.00 otd or a brand new phoenix arms 22 for $150 otd.

Just bumping the thread to ask if you bought one yet.. ;)

Another vote for the Phoenix HP22a.
WELL worth the price of around $100.
