Looking for a .223 powder for plinking loads with using bulk 55gr to 64gr bullets, whatever I can get a good deal on.

I just ordered H335, H4895, Varget and RL15 for reloading .223 and .308.

H335 was ordered for .223 but it wasn't one of the options.

I am not familiar with it. Currently the only rifle powder I use is BL-C(2) for .308. I will look into it.

Ramshot Tac will give you plinking or accuracy loads, and works for all bullet weights. And the load charts indicate that it will give 100fps higher velocity than H335 with the same bullets.
For reference, Midway shows both competitively priced the same.

Here's a link to Ramshot site, click on the data and it will load a PDF file.

Ramshot TAC would be my value choice, meters great, burns clean, cheap and works well for the weight bullets OP listed.
Next choice would be BLC-2. It works with nearly every weight reasonably well.

H335 or Winchester 748 are both good powders for the .223, and they meter well through a powder thrower.

I voted Varget since that's what I'm using atm, mainly cause I'm using it in 308win and 243win also.
But before I was using Varget, Benchmark gave some nice results, before that it was H4895.

Whatever powder in the right burn rate you can find the cheapest. There are so many good powders for .223 you can buy by price unless you are shooting competition. They will all be pretty accurate, and for 55 Gr FMJ (cheap plinkers) it won't matter anyway because they don't shoot all that well. I bought some cheap surplus powder for general plinking.

I have used WW-748 since 1970 something with perfect satisfaction.

It was designed & manufactured as a military 5.56 NATO powder from the getgo.

I much prefer ball powders like WW-748 over stick type in the small bores as it flows through powder measures and .224" cases necks like water with no chance of bridging over.

If you are using a bolt action you could use titegroup. It has a light powder charge along with low velocity ans pressure. It wont cycle the action of a semi auto in my expierence though. I have used it for malfunction drills.

For general plinking with bulk bullets, .223 is not at all fussy. I'd just pick up and use whatever meters better for you and is readily available.
For my match grade loads, I've had good luck with a variety of powders - H-322, H-335, BLC-2, Varget, Benchmark, RL-15.
