Which rails for my Magpul MOE handguard?

This is a two part question, kinda long but bear with me, thanks...



1: I'm looking to put a Surefire G2 LED on my rifle. I want it in the forward most rail slot on my MOE handguard, left side. I need a rail that'll attach in that modular slot, and I also need a ring/mount that'll hold the light tight. Last, I PREFER both pieces to be polymer. I'm open to metal, but strongly prefer polymer for various reasons. Recommendations, please! Right now, I'm looking @ this on the 5 slot

But I'm not sure if it'll work or not with the MOE handguard? It seems the perfect choice given my criteria and the price. As for rings/mounts, NO idea? Most everything seems to be aluminum. If I have to use aluminum, I'll go with the g,g and G Surefire G2 mount.



2. I'm looking to add a two point sling. First off, does my Magpul stock have a swivel point or not? It looks like it, but I dunno if it's meant for that or not. It's the little hole at the bottom. If so, the rear point is taken care of. I don't have a front mount, or a gas block with a bottom rail. I'm pretty much set on a two point. My question is, would mounting one via the forward-most modular slot on the bottom of the handguard be recommended in this case? It doesn't seem the best of pieces on the gun to carry that kind of stress. If so, I'll use the same rail as above, and a sling swivel mount for a rail.

IIRC, my MagPul MOE handguard came with a pamphlet for the ERGO Grips site.

I purchased several of their rails so I could have various setups if I wanted, but pretty much I just have a small rail on the bottom for the light and a small rail on the side for the sling mount.

Most of the places that sell MOE handguards also sell rail sections that will mount in them. As for the Surefire G2, you can get a nice dedicated mount for it around $30 (Daniel Defense, Larue, TNVC, VLTOR all have one) Or you can use a 1" scope ring, which also works - just be sure to tighten it good and blue loctite the screws or the flashlight will pop out.

I see some long slots that you could run a sling through; but I don't see any of the QD swivels that some of the other Magpul stocks have. You could always get a Magpul ASAP mount though and mount the rear sling point at the rear of the receiver.

Can't help you with where to mount the forward sling; but I do like the MS2 for a two-point and a single-point sling (it does both quite well).
