I bought a Mossberg 590 a few years ago-- didn't like the long LOP on the Speedfeed stock, so I ordered the Hogue "overmolded" 12" LOP buttstock for it. Now it's just a little too short. The only way to shoot it without my right thumb hitting me in the nose is to curl it over to the right side in what Col Cooper called the pinch-off grip.

I remember-- somewhere on this forum, in the distant past-- reading a recommendation for a recoil pad that adds about .5" to the LOP of that stock, which would make it perfect. Does anybody know what recoil pad that is? When I look on midwayusa, I see dozens of recoil pads, and have no idea which one it was.

Thanks!

You will need to measure your butt pad area to get the screw dimensions as well as the measurements of the surface area.

Limbsaver, Pachmayr, and many others all make good pads. Some are labeled "prefit" others need to be ground a little to get a perfect fit that looks good

Thanks, 1ozload. Guess I'll have to do that. I know I remember somebody on here saying exactly which make and model slipped on with perfect fit, but the search engine didn't turn it up, and I guess that guy's not around today.

It's been sitting under my bed gathering dust for a couple years now. I'd be happy to throw it in a box and send it your way. PM inbound
