Dear THR,
Which trigger system do you guys like? For example: CZ's Omega, Sig Sauer's SRT, Glock's lightening trigger with 3.5lbs connector, USP match, or such. I personally perfer the SRT in Sig Sauer. I like its reduced reset and zero take up on follow up shots.

Thanks

I tried the 3.5 connector in my 23 and 27, honestly I liked the stock 5.5 better. It had a little more defined break and reset. That's the thing, the trigger weight on a Glock isn't the same as the connector's rating, but the connector does influence how much hard the trigger has in it at those two points.

I really like the Glock triggers, and I started to gravitate towards a good DAO-style of trigger over the years. The variable pulls of a traditional double action just aren't exactly what I want out of a gun.

I prefer a single action, for a carry gun a nice crisp 4.5 pounds or so, 2.5 pounds for a target pistol. The EAA Witness Elite (Tanfoglio) single action models have the best factory trigger I have experience with.

Bullseye type shooting - SA / 1911

IDPA - Glock...nothing fancy, just well worn with 3000+ rounds (gives the same result as a 3.5 lb connector) Keep your ny1 springs, I hate the resulting feel. I don't care for the lightning trigger, I'd rather spend that money on ammo because the end result isn't worth it to me. When shooting at speed, I can't tell much of a difference. Slow fire or dry fire, yeah...but at speed a well worn stock setup feels just fine.

Plinking, shooting for fun - Any trigger will do, I'm not picky.

Deep concealment/BUG? DAO or Striker
Regular concealment? DA/SA or Striker
Competition? SAO
Service pistol? DA/SA or Striker

As you can see, DA/SA or Striker wins for me.

Dae-Woo's triple action is pretty neat. I like the way they allow you to push the hammer forward with the gun on safe and then have it snap back for a single action pull when you take the safety off. I just love a good SA/DA with an exposed hammer, though I do own a 1911 and a SA revolver.
I don't like or trust any of the "safe action" type trigger systems that come on Glocks, S&W's, Springfield's, etc.

Regardless of what type trigger it is ... I really like having the same pull every time.

I agree. I prefer SA with thumb safety (FN Hipower or CZ 75B) or DAO (Glock 19, Walther PPS or S&W 442.) I know that a lot of folks like DA/SA trigger systems, but they just don't work for me.

Thankfully, we live in a country where we have LOTS of options. :)

I've tried most of the trigger connectors available for the Glock and I like the V4 Race connector best.In my Gen 4 G17 I have a Lone Wolf comp. spring kit,V4 race connector,Yager lightweight striker and a .25 trigger job.I have over 2100 flawless rounds on this setup without a failure. It's a 1.8# trigger pull. It's the lightest and crispest combo I've tried in a Glock. It also has a short, discernable reset.
It's my favorite trigger of all my handguns.604415[/ATTACH]"]http:// connectors002.jpg

For "just trigger", 1911-type going away.
"Others" can almost be as good.
The CZ 75 with no FPI and reduced/worked to 4.5 DA#--2# SA with disconnector work to shorten the reset. VERY steel-gun nice.

I ave tried quite a few too, the best I have found is the Ghost Rocket with a "DS" cut on the overtravel stop.
For $15 I think I'll give that V4 connector a try just for the heck of it.

The finest factory stock semi auto trigger was in the S&W Model 52. In current production the S&W945PC has an outstanding factory trigger somewhat better than their 952PC. In 1911's the best factory triggers come with the Dan Wesson line.

Depends on the gun's use. I like SA in .22s for hunting or plinking. I like DA/SA or DAO for carry. My reason for DA or DAO for carry guns is that they comply with my Revolvers which I WON'T give up carrying, at least with the first shot. :D I firmly believe that if you carry a single action condition one, that's the ONLY thing you should carry and do serious defensive practice with. But, I just won't give up my revolvers.

I do NOT like safe action. Mostly I pocket carry in a soft pocket holster. I like a long, heavy DA pull on a pocket auto. My fave carry is still my Kel Tec P11, little square revolver. :D People who can't shoot prefer SA. :D :scrutiny::uhoh:

I like striker fired guns, just rack the slide and shoot it. I also like the smooth, consistent trigger pull shot to shot. My XD-40 and SR9-C have outstanding factory triggers.

I like consistent feel on each shot. 1911 S/A would be great if I could trust myself to remember to flick the safety off under stress... but I don't, so I carry striker fired Glock or the new Walther PPQ. Next best thing.

For a high performance "race gun"-whatever Knighthawk Customs does to their SA is AMAZING! For a duty/carry/ everything else I like the classic DA/SA from Sig or Beretta (after a decent spring, sear and trigger tune-up on the Italian). A well tuned DA pull is completely effective in SD and emiminates the need for a manual safety, and the ability to thumb to a SA for a "surgical" shot is a nice feature. Some will lament about the transition from DA to SA, I just tell them to go train more. It seems to work for the SEALs with their SIGs, and they are pretty good shots.

The Apex USB (Ultimate Safety Block) and hard sear combine to produce a truly superb trigger on the Smith and Wesson M&P pistol. The letoff is crisp and with no creep and the over travel and pre-travel are both reduced.

Trigger

I have an "Italian Made" Tanfoglio Forve Carry that has a very nice SA trigger. DA is fine, but nothing spectacular.

However I recently made the purchase of a LEO trade in, State Police pistol. This gun is a Sig 2340, .40 cal., has made in "Switzerland" stamped on the frame.

Absolutely the lightest DA/SA I think I have ever felt. Possibly has had some trigger work done on it by the State Armorer. I do not know. Maybe this line just had really, really nice triggers, or I just got lucky (though that would be an extreme rarity)

I am just guessing here, so bear with me. DA appears to be about 7-8 lbs.
SA is maybe 3.5, but probably closer to 3lbs. No creep, or grit at all. Tiny bit of slack in SA. Maybe this pistol did have some armorer work done on it.
