Hello,

I recently bought a Whitney Pocket cal .31. It's nice to be able to keep it out on the desk and I'll probably shoot it sometime for fun as well.

The serial markings are mostly the same and I'd like to know how old it might be.

It says 17226 on most places, sometimes with a letter or two at the end.

All Flayderman says is "Late 1850s - early 1860s."
Thank you Jim. Now all I have to do is figure out what nipple design to order (together with a nipple wrench), I purchased Norms book but nipples was not covered there unfortunately. As far as I could see.

No, ol Norm was only interested in collectability, not shooting.

Dixie Gun Works and Track of the Wolf are the best parts sources I know of.
