I previously owned an original Whitney Wolverine .22 autoloader. The later Olympia version (rail / cockscomb on top), was not as popular, but sells for approx. 4 times less than the original. Anybody out there ever own or shot the later version ? How was the functioning ? Any jams, etc. ? The original was a honey, and performed well ! :)

I actually own both. I like the original much better; it just doesn't feel quite right in polymer. My original is very picky about what ammo it likes; the Oly is exactly the same, like the same ammo (cci, t22), jams with the same ammo (Aguila and other cheap stuff). Not a jam so much as not wanting to feed into the chamber in the first place.

Don't really know why I've bothered keeping the copy.

Thanks ! That pretty much answered my question .:)

That mirrors my own experiences....I had the new Olympic version. It was accurate, and very light, but picky about ammo, and one of the two mags I had for it couldn't feed for beans.

When Olympic introduced their replica they had serious problems with unreliable operation.
That got them an early bad reputation for the gun and that seems to have badly affected their sales of the new Whitney.
Plus, many people expected and wanted an aluminum gun like the original and were disappointed with the plastic construction.

All that, combined with Olympics often bad reputation has limited sales.

and because this thread needs some pictures;

Zoom, if you ever decide to sell the Oly WW, let me know. I've kinda wanted one, but never found one for the right price at the right time.
