Systems Engineer

Well, I am 41 (YIKES) single and a Systems Engineer for a Software Development Company. Im the guy that tells you, No, you cannot put that program on that server... Why? Because the program is Windows based and that is a Linux server....

I tend to have enough disposable income that I can buy whatever i see, within reason. It also helps that nearby is one of the greatest gun shops around for consignment guns. I love to go look and see what new items have come in, from Relics to the latest .500 Smith with a box of ammo with 2 rounds missing. I l love coming across the great deal.

Well, No kids, no pets, no GF. 1 Ex Wife.

37 years old, happily married for almost 5 years, and I work in the printing industry. I got into guns about 2 years ago, and my wife followed suit about a year ago. My wife & I both have our CCWs.

For all of you who are serving or have served in the military, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE! (yes, I meant to shout!)

29y.o. , self employed for the last 5 years; I own a store/repair center in the recreational boating/fishing arena. Married 6 years this November, 1 kid, typical middle class working folks.

Business took a hit after Katrina (I live in New Orleans area); people didnt fish for a while after the storm, so I havent bought a gun scince last June:eek: . Things are returning to normal . Got my eye on a Ruger .454/.45 Colt DA revolver, and considering a nice 12 ga. pump.

who me

42yr old married male. Shipping/Receiving business. Guns, NASCAR, hunting, fishing. Louisiana, in process of moving to the Asheville, NC area. Some day SWHF and I'll be ready!

21 male from NC, spc in the us army 11b, currently staioned at Ft. Riley but will be pcs'ing to ft stewart soon. married with a 15month old and one on the way. I normally gt one gun a year but if i get promoted or reenlist, or get deployed i get a weapon with my per diem money. this reenlistment i am gonna pick up a ar-15 and an m1a, and i should be done for a while, until tax time next year, or until my next deployment.

"possum's hubby" disclaimer: though he is from NC and so am i we are not married as the name sounds and i have never met him, I wanted to make sure that that was taken care of right away, this was the first post i had ever seen the above mentioned,I am sure he is a great guy though! so i guess i should say i am a STRAIGHT Male !:)

GUNS - TOYS OR INVESTMENTS?

Just a tad over 70, live with wife of 46 years, her 91-year-old mom, and our youngest daughter (38, single and no BFs) who just graduated from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University as an Aerospace Engineer and will be moving out soon to a new job.

Still work full-time as teleservices rep for the fantastic insurance benefits, and the bucks go for guns. Not much shooting now but love researching the oddballs: cased Fialas and Mossberg Brownies (both early US handguns), plus, I have lots of other interesting firearms.

Both wife and Mom-In-Law have bought me guns for gifts. EXAMPLES: a mint Inglis HP 1942Chinese contract w/stock/holster for Valentine's Day and a NIB Ruger MkII NRA/Bill Ruger commenorative for a birthday. All of us, but Granny, have our Florida carry licenses, and we all pack.

Wife has a Diamonte for transport and I have my old merlot colored Miata M Edition. Hey, it's Florida and you GOTTA' have a ragtop here!

Ain't life grand?

Yes, there IS a place for all of God's creatures: right next to the potatoes and gravy.

Dang, this IS a huge thread.

Nearly 44. (Oh, crud! I suppose it beats the alternative.)
HS science teacher last 20 years.
Married almost 4 years -- non-shooting spouse, but she's really a good sport about it. Step-daughter and infant son.
Lots of guns, lots of ammo, NO TIME TO GET TO THE RANGE!!
CCW - Glock 19 or 30 IWB

our youngest daughter (38, single and no BFs) who just graduated from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University as an Aerospace Engineer
Me too, though 5 years ago. I went to Daytona '96-98 and Prescott '99-01. Only thing I regret not doing while in Daytona was going to the Rolex 24 Hours race.

It's a great school. Where did your daughter get a job?

31/ single A/C and refrigeration mechanic(technician is a code word for a salesman that can't fix anything)

I bought 3 guns last year, a Kimber TLE 2 stainless(used great deal), Remington 870-P(used), and a Bushmaster AR(new). I also kayak(2 of those). I get my ammo either through wally world or online. My uncle gave me a reloading machine but I haven't gotten around reloading yet.

Now that it is getting hot out I'll be spending more time on the kayaks and less time on the range.

I'm 23 years old. I'm a server at one of the restaurants in a major Chattanooga hotel. I'm also an on again, off again college student at Dalton State College. I do have a girlfriend, though no plans of marriage. Outside of guns, I have a big interest in cars, especially Toyota sports cars from the 80's. Other than that, I lead a rather mundane, though mostly fulfilling life.

28, engaged, 3 month old Son, Network Engineer/Administrator, and also a college student going for my degree(don't ask which one as I am going after more then one TYVM). I most certainly don't have alot of disposably income for guns, not right now anyway but will within the year. I buy my guns using the layaway system. I don't need to have it right this very moment, as I already have 4(3 actually the 4th I bought for my fiance, she loves it, and loves to shoot after getting together with me).

Rev. Michael

Well, I'm 40 married to a great lady for 18 yrs, 3 children 13, 11, 6. I spent 15 yrs in the Navy building Bombs and such as a Ordnanceman. Family said enough and now I work for a soup company named Campbells. I work as a lead machine operator there. I enjoy living my life like a Pirate! lol My collection grows by a few a year. I make decent money and have decent bills too. I enjoy the sea, hunting, sport shooting, and history. I spent way too many years living in KEYWEST and it really changed my outlook on life in general. We must enjoy it while we have it! I was once told my a religous person that faith can move mountains. I replied that the proper applications of high explosives will and can move it faster! IYAOYAS!

Stevo

I am 41, retired from the Army. One daughter and a wife of sixteen years. Two dogs.

My better half is construction pm in the silicon valley. I train dogs, a little security stuff, and volunteer at the VA. I put her through college. So I get to buy what I want. But I am not nutty about it.
Three ayear or so..
Is this the biggest thread ever?

Almost a Geezer

Personal Stats:
46 years old
Married 16 years
2 girls (9 and 11) that are absolutley wonderful fun
1 dog
2 cats (one for each girl)
5' 11" and 190 lbs

I am a Plant Manager. Yes that evil guy with his foot on the neck of the working man, that's me!

I don't buy that many guns. Last year I bought a Browning 525 Sporting Clays 12 guage for $2200. That is one sweet bird buster!

My main problem with buying guns is that it is just one of my many bad habbits. I like golf, flying RC airplanes, raquet ball, basketball, competition skeet, and working around the place.

Broadcast TV techie; catperson

I wrestle electrons for a TV station, with primary responsibility for two big transmitters (VHF analog, UHF digital) and one UHF "Class A" low-power, plus a lot of installation and repair at the studios. The pay isn't bad, especially considering I have no real education. "Unlimited funds to buy guns," it's not, but since I like unusual, older handguns, it's adequate: the Stars, Savages and Astras I look at are usually not very costly.

47, recently single, no kids, two indoor cats and 2.5 feral cats outdoors that I feed and look after.

5' 11", 150#, blue eyes and dark blonde/coppery hair (now with a dusting of silver), all thanks to choosing an excellent set of grandparents. :D I ride my bicycle as much as I can and get a little exercise every day to stay in decent shape, or at least try to.

...And I'll debate endlessly at the drop of a hat.

47 years old, 2nd marriage 12 years and going.
USAF, 10 yrs., Security Police. Uncle Sugar helped pay for my BS and MS. Now a computer geek, IT Manager for a Property Owner's Association. Part time officer with a local PD.
Got my start in guns at 6 years old, huntin' for rabbits and squirrel in the woods of Northwest Arkansas with my grandpa and an old Springfield bolt action .22. Shot my first deer at 11, have hunted off and on since then. I shoot and teach shooting regularly. Qualified expert with everything while in the military including M-16, M-15(.38 revolver), M-60, M-203, M-2, MK 19, and shotgun.
3 dogs, 3 cats, all strays. (I'm a sucker that way.)
How many guns do I have? More than I need and not as many as I want.
Sig 226's in 9mm and .40 cal.
Glock 17C and 22.
S&W Models 19, 38, 640, and 65-S.
SA 1911A1 Loaded
Taurus PT145 Millenium Pro
Romanian AK-47
Armalite AR15
Ruger 10-22 with factory bull barrel
Polish M-44
Mossberg 500 Enforcer 12 ga.
Mossberg 590A Police 12 ga.
Mossberg 500 .20 ga.
Henry .22
SA M1A1 Loaded on order.
Thinking about getting another Lee Enfield .303 since I liked the last one so much.

My wife has almost as many guns as I do, but I may have missed a few. :D

51 year-old Journeyman Toolmaker, about to retire and begin a new career (maybe as a Gunsmith). Married 15yrs the first time with 2 kids, and 15 years this time, (finally got it right this time. Married a woman who says "You can't have too many guns in the house"!) handgunner since my dad started me on a K-.22 S&W at the age of 6... Don't have a really large number of guns, but they're good ones:

My guns:
Winchester M-70 featherweight .25 WSSM
Winchester M-12 20ga Special Edition
Taurus PT-145
Kel-Tec P3AT
Ruger MKII stainless 10" bull barrel w/hooded ramp/fiberoptic bead front/peep rear sights...Dang that gun's accurate! :D

Wife's guns:
Savage M-99 .300sav
Remington 141 .35rem
Ruger super blackhawk
Kel-Tec P3AT
Phoenix HP-22... fer plinkin'

I can pretty much get what I want gun-wise, as my wife seldom objects to me getting shooting, hobby or tool items, but I'm very use-oriented, and a new gun is a serious purchase to me, as I won't buy a gun I don't have a fairly specific use for. In fact, the only guns I plan on buying anytime soon are a Walther P-22 for fun-type plinking, and a Ruger 10-22 to super-accurize...
