50. Registered nurse. Work in the emergency department or on the medical-surgical floor. Bachelor. No kids. If I waste the grocery money on toys...I'm the only eating beans.

33, married (happily), four kids (13, 7, 3, 1), and work on cell phone towers for a living.

22 year old single male. I do live with my GF though.
No children
I work at a national chain tire shop.
The pay is good enough to meet the bills, but leaves little else for guns. I can always manage a few boxes of ammo though. 22lr is my friend!

Hopefully starting into a more profitable field this coming fire season. I'll be a wildland firefighter. The work is seasonal, but that can make you some darn good money should you get called out onto some large fires. Finding work in the winter can be kinda tough though. Wish me luck.

30, Married, 18mo old son, Power Plant Operator, Buy and sell alot of guns. Mostly selling now days due to bying our first home. Wife is a CMA at the local hospital. 1 dog, 1 cat. I drive a beat up old Ford pickup 4x4, and the wife gets the new Subaru. Nobody special, just a proud papa mostly. Take care. Kansas

I'm 52 years old of Irish-French-Welsh ancestry, 6'5", 250 lbs, married 31 years, with one fabulous son soon to be 19. I've been a police/fire/911 dispatcher since early fall of 1978. (Yeah, too long maybe, but the work we do has its rewards.) And, as to the reason I'm here on the High Road , I've loved guns and shooting unashamedly since I was a child. Other interests/pursuits: I'm multilingual (French, Spanish, Italian, German, some Arabic, some Yiddish, a little English :D ) and I'm an all-around geek (a borderline autistic into math-based physical and computer sciences.) Also, I sign my posts with my simply my name. (I go by my middle name.)

Male, 29 (30 next month... bleh..)
Single, no kids (and no desire to have any)
TV editor/graphic designer by day, not sure what I am by night :)
No debt, so my gun-buying is for now 'guilt-free'.

Only just recently got into guns (couple months ago) and wish I'd have done so years ago. Not a big collection yet, 3 handguns, but have vowed not to buy any more until I get a safe first. Suffice to say I'm chomping at the bit to go safe shopping, but this pesky "work" thing has been thwarting my plans for a couple weeks! :cuss:

Pretty new to THR - so hello everyone!

Hmm... Dunno how I missed this thread when it started.

I'm 59, married almost 27 years to my first and only wife. Have a 26 yr old daughter--sometimes. We make what might be a good income if we weren't spending it in San Ramon, CA.

I am very anti "trendy", wear hush puppies to ride the 1985 bicycle I bought NIB 3 years ago. Would like to use cellphones as targets.

Long list of interests (see bio). Began "serious" shooting at age 52 with purchase of my first handgun. Did competiton for a few years, slowed down to a crawl with purchase of first house (San Ramon prices, remember?).

I work for Xerox as a production laser printer analyst (technical sales type). Being in Xerox I got over the techie thing years ago, am now very resistant to geekdom and bright shiny tech thingees. *Yawn* I supported the first Ethernets and the windows workstations that led to the Mac and Windows whatever down to the signal and micro code level. (Was the organization that produced Adobe, 3Com, Bay Networks/Synoptics among others.)

Would really like to retire to a job I could enjoy.

Old Guy

Well...as I write this, I have just turned 37, this morning in fact.

I am a retired federal officer, I was injured in the line of duty, and now collect a decent federal pension, as well work as a staffing consultant, doing in-depth background investigations for sensitive areas. I also make holsters for sport, concealment, and western style shooting.

My wife is the Director Of Human Resources for a large company based here in Phoenix, with offices in Los Angeles, Tucson, Las Vegas, Detroit, and Miami.

I have a nine month old daughter...first and last, who I take care of during the day, as I work from home.

So...my pension goes to the household, and my second income goes to hobbies and entertainment. That is how I finance my gun habit. :)

I'm 32 and I have a low paying job. But, I also have relatively few bills to pay, so that combined with a C&R license and an interest in milsurp rifles has allowed me to build up a modest collection of guns. Oh, and I'm single with only a couple cats as dependants :) . And many of the shooters I know predict that I'll be handloading my own ammo in the near future. . .

just turned 0h20... sorry, 32 in your typical decimal system...
working in IT from the late university years, spare for one year military service.
happily married for last 6 years, and have one son 4 years old.

other than my salary, i make some income as a staff writer/editor for local GUN magazine; also, have some profit from my website; and write the books, all about guns =)

as of guns, now have only one, Stoeger 2000 deluxe shottie in 12 gauge. Could had have more but my wife is strongly opposed to have firearms in the same appartments with our omniexistent selfpropelling hurricane, called Dmitry, and generally known as our son, so i have just one tube to clear after each range session.

OK, I'll play.

I'm male, 38 (turning 39 on Sunday).
Married, with a 5 year old boy (likes guns) and a 2 year old girl. Both kids and wife are fantastic.

I work in IT, in the medical field.

I live in MA right now in a hugely expensive town, and we're looking to move to Maine in a few months to live cheaper and freer.

I'm starting my collection out with the basics.

Ruger 77/22
Ruger Single Six
Ruger Bisley .22
Colt Pony Pocketlite
Colt repro 1860 Army
Mosin-Nagant M44
Walther P22
SW1911

A year ago, when I first got "into" guns in a big way, my wife said "No guns in the house, ever." Now, she doesn't even raise an eyebrow when I bring one upstairs to clean it. :D

34 year old male. I've worked as a Psychotherapist for the past 7 years. I rent, no kids but have a live in girlfriend.

Moneys tight (since I pay more in student loans than I do in rent), but I like to shoot USPSA, most of the clays games and I'm the local club's MD for IDPA. I also do a lot of hunting depending on the time of year. I've went through spurts, but I perhaps buy one gun a year as of late. Current count is 17 with a mix of everythign from blackpowder rifles to the pair of AR variants to the STI Edge.

53, married, one adult son, work for the federal government (no, not the IRS). Got my nickname in my youth when I was fairly rapid; still resemble a bullet, unfortunately it's a punkin' ball.

I don't own any guns - any pictures I may have posted are ones I've taken from the internet. I hope to find out how to work a firearm someday, though.

50+ year old Male WASP***
Married, no one else at home
Network Admininstrator ("Hey Computer Guy, my pc's busted again!")

***WASP= White Anglo Saxon Protestant. Actually, 5th generation Southern Redneck Good Ole Boy, transplanted to the frozen tundra of NE Ohio.

I'm 21, a white male, and single with no children. For work, i'm the news director at a radio station. I more guns than I should at this age and things are only getting worse with the aquisition of my pistol permit... :)

Hi, new guy here. I'm 48, married, 1 daughter (13) and 4 cats. Currently working in auto parts sales, always looking for something better. Only been collecting guns for 3 years now, but have always been interested. Small collection (2 rifles, 3 pistols) grows only when limited funds allow. Did just get a .45 for my last birthday, so life is good!

How'd I miss this one?

I'm 41, married to my wife 15 years, have two sons, 11 and 6, both of whom love to shoot! :) (The wife has in the past, but is not big into it.)

I've held numerous jobs, currently I work in a plastics plant third shift so I can be with the kids when they are off school, and also as a gunsmith part-time. (I was an Armorer in the US Army, plus self-taught from age 14.) I surely don't have tons of $$ to buy guns with, but since developing Mosinitis I seem to have acquired several Mosin Nagants, and a few other milsurps, too. ;)

51, freshly retired from 23 years in Uncle Sam's big green establishment (civvie side), not _even_ thinking about another job right now...

Married for 3 years, my first, her last, honeymoon's still goin' on, she teaches at the local university, PhD and NRA life member, what a lady she is, how lucky I am!

Happily living on 5 very rural acres in eastern NC, hurricane country...

No kids, two dogs (a Brittany for the birds, a Brazilian mastiff for everything else- when she grows up anyway, right now she's only a threat to the carpet and my socks), no cats, livestock come spring now that the fences are up...

Nissan PU (me), VW wagon (her), no toys w/wheels, want a tractor tho...

Meet my own definition of 'enough guns' (don't know how many, if you can keep track, you don't have enough). Hers, mine, ours= enough. Her wedding presents from me included a preban AR carbine, a Win Mod 70 Youth in .243 w/B&L glass, a 3d generation Glock 19 w/M3 light, and a Rem 870 12 ga. tuned and properly accessorized. She's a better shot than I am, doesn't hurt my feelings a bit. But I'm meaner than she is... 8^)

Wow! This thread has been brought back from the dead! My kids are no longer 1 1/2 and 3, as posted earlier in this thread. They are 2 1/2 and 4 now and I'm still as domestic engineer. :)
