being fairly new to reloading, ive only found a few online companies, and none that really have everything i need for any given order.

price is not really my only determining factor in choosing where i get my stuff.

just as important to me is customer service, and prompt shipping, especially if i choose 2nd or 3rd day shipping options. i just cant stand it when i pay premium shipping charges if i need something fast only to have them sit on the order for a few days before shipping it out.

for me so far, it has been wideners.com and cheaperthandirt.com

although i dont think cheaper than dirt sells smokeless powder.

so who is your favorites?

FlyinBryan,

I use primarily Grafs, MidwayUSA, CheaperThanDirt, Brownells, F&M, and Natchez.

I've learned the same thing you've learned, and that is no one place has everything, or, they have everything, just not in stock. Nearly everytime I need something now, I have to order from a few different places. Shipping get's really expensive.

Ditto to the above post. No one supplier has everything, all the time. I use Midsouthshooters Supply, Natchez, MidwayUSA, and a place I found recently if you like cast bullets, betterbullets.com. I usually try to pick up primers and powder locally, due to hazmat fees.

Grafs, Powder Valley, Midway, & Cabelas have been great for me when they have things in stock (Grafs is bad about this). Wideners is "the suck". Still in the middle of one of the worst customer service episodes I have ever had with a company, inside or outside the shooting industries.

http://montanagoldbullet.com/ is great for pistol FMJ bullets and 55gr 223 fmj. reasonable prices and free shipping. and incredible quality.

http://www.wideners.com/ is good for all sorts of stuff, mostly mil spec new bulk bullets (free shipping on them)

for bulk brass, in order of preference
top brass (i just ordered some processed 308 from them, its amazing)
http://secure.cartsvr.net/catalogs/categories.asp?catid=23696

ordered some 45, and 9mm and 223 from brassmanbrass, good quality
http://www.brassmanbrass.com/

ordered some 223 from GI brass. not entirely what i ordered, some damaged dented cases not all matching headstamps like i had ordered, but decent quality
http://www.gibrass.com/

I would order from all three agian.

I think you cant do much better than powder valley for primers and powder.

If you order from grafs make SURE you tell them not to sell your name, contact info. they do that without telling customers or offering an opt out.

PowderValleyInc, Midway, MidsouthShootersSupply, Cabela's, and MastercastBullets.com (Cabela's is kind of expensive, but not ridiculous, and they have really good promotions sometimes that let you stack multiple discounts)

Thumbs up for Powder Valley Inc., Wideners and Natchez. I tried to use Grafs once, sent them an email with a question and they didn't reply. So I didn't spend.

Occasionally also get some deals at MidwayUSA, just have to watch the shipping .

i just placed ANOTHER order with MIDWAY USA. this time, i checked peice by peice price comparisons with GRAFFS. they did not have a couple of things that midway did, but what they did have, AFTER SHIPPING, there was only about $7.00 difference in a $300.00 order. not enough to make me switch from MIDWAY! i know their service, i dont know graffs. next time, i will do a peice by peice with natchez, and see how much difference there is with them. but until the other compeditors upgrade their websites, so i can actually see what it is i am ordering, i probably will not change. like they say, a picture is worth a thousand words!

Lock, Stock & Barrel, MidwayUSA, Brownell, Wideners. Don't shoot a whole lot but a family member and myself placed a huge Y2K order with Wideners in Nov. 1999. They made a shipping error by reversing the quantities of 9mm bullets FMJ vs. JHP. There was a difference in the price and they offered to make it right by paying the shipping both ways to get the bullets right or by giving us a larger credit off the bill to more than compensate the cost difference. We agreed to that and kept the bullets as shipped and that saved Widener's some $$ and we were happy with the deal. Customer service was very good but haven't dealt with them much since then. Still have a lot of the bullets and brass from that purchase.

Midwayusa, wideners, and grafs are the biggest 3 I go to. Midway is getting crazy on shipping but they have some awesome deals somwtimes that i can't resist.

I buy mostly from Graf's and Powder Valley. I haven't seen powder or primers cheaper anyplace else. I was getting a great deal on Zero bullets from Powder Valley but heard they are low on stock lately.

For powder and primers I think Powder Valley is probably the best right now for both prices and availability. They are also good to deal with. Their bullet prices and selections aren't bad either.

For Hard Cast Bullets I'm buying from Mike at Mastercast Bullets. He has the best prices right now and his bullets are extremely accurate. The prices on his site haven't been updated for a while but you can get a quote by email. I just bought 2,000 .358" 148gr DEWC bullets for $112 including S&H & Insurance.

Wideners has good prices on Surplus powders, bullets and once fired Brass. They have other components too and prices on new components are good when they run a sale.

Midsouth Shooters Has tons of stuff from ammo to Firearms to bullets including bullets for reloading "The FBI Load." They have .358" 158gr LSWC/HP bullets from Hornady, Speer and some really good looking 158gr LSWC/HP bullets from Magnum Bullets.

Kempf has low prices on reloading equipment and they sell a wide range of shooting products.

There are tons of sites online for equipment and components. Be careful when you buy lead bullets because some of the stuff out there is real junk. Inexpensive bullets like those made by Mastercast are good accurate bullets but cheap bullets are just cheap bullets. Don't be fooled by a low price alone because some are worth more than you pay and some aren't worth the S&H. Along with Mastercast bullets I linked to above you can trust low cost bullets from Roger's Better Bullets and The Bulletworks. Oregon Trails produces Laser Cast bullets which are also good and accurate bullets but they will cost you twice as much as the other bullets I listed but they are no better for the added cost. If you find them on sale somewhere (at 50% off) they are safe to buy and load.

If you need special bullets or common bullets specially sized you can find them at Beartooth Bullets but they aren't cheap. (between $14 and $20 per 100)

Hope this helps a little... Have fun and be safe!

suppliers

Powder valley - for jacketed bullets
Tenesee valley - for lead bullets
Local range - for powder and primers
Nachezz - for reloading accessories and supplies
Midway USA - last choice because of high cost of shipping

I have had nothing but great experiences ordering from Widener's.

I am new to post here , A long time lurker though. I am a dealer for Graf's They get most of my business. The CS is unbeatable. The send the girls there Christmas gifts and they never let me down. Hell they fight to field my calls. It is an awesome company. BTW if you guys need anything from them I will hook you up. I have my own AK forum so I know how a bunch of guys are going to throw up red flags here. Please don't pm me if you need refs or have any questions. Good luck in you quest to find a supplier.

Graf's is my supplier for a lot of things. The chicks there are outstanding. I speak to Kim the most. I think Dillon and Graf's have the best CS in the industry.

qajag59, T H A N K S ! ! ! I had no idea there were so may sites out there. GREAT POST!
I wish I could take credit for compiling it, but I can't. I got it off the web quite a while ago. It's handy at times when your looking for something special and can't find it.

I use most of the companies mentioned at one time or the other. Who ever has what I want at the price that I am willing to pay.:cuss:
