I am considering the conversion of a 22lr rifle to 17Mach2 via a barrel liner. Is anyone setup to do this, or do you know someone who is?

Thanks.

This should be a relatively simple job for you to do yourself if you are handy and can get up the courage. Brownells sells the drills, liners, and reamers. Virtually any full-service gunsmith should be able to do the job for you, however. Try Fred at Low Tech: http://www.gun-shop.biz//

After some research, I came to the conclusion that it could be done with a hand drill and the aforementioned tools. However, the cost of the tools far outweigh the cost of having someone else do it.

Thanks for the contact, I'll shoot him an email.

For anyone interested, www.american-manufacture.com said they would do it for about $100.

Renting the tools is an interesting option ($25 for the reamer and $20 for the drill). Unfortunately, after I add the other materials for the job (the liner itself for $35 and a package of Acraglas for $17), the net savings is about $3. I'll gladly spend that on someone with the experience. I'm cheap, but not that cheap!
