I'd look around here on the for sale section or the equipment exchange over at ar15.com, there' susually good stuff to be had.. Gunbroker does garner good deals once in a while.

I would definately try the "Buy, Sell and Trade, Reloading Components" section here on the High Road. You will get your best buys here in my opinion.

Call Lynn Norris 318-265-7200. His internet was down last time I checked, but he sells tumbled .45 brass for $20.00 per 500 plus shipping. You have to do the depriming, but that's no sweat.

LOL! I have been reloading for 5-6? years now, and have never bought brass. Particularly not for .45acp!

If you have friends who shoot these calibers, asks them if you can have their used brass.

At the range, ask if you can have some used brass.

Ask the guys shooting next to you if you can have their brass.

At the "unofficial range" out in the desert, be a good guy and pick up all the once fired brass to clean up after the morons who leave it and mess up the place so we won't be able to shoot there in the future.

Eeehh, in the interest of truth, I DID buy some .284Win brass at a gun show, once, so I could re-form it to 7.5 Swiss brass for my K-31. You generally can't find oddball brass, like you can for .45acp or .44mag.

Shhhhhhhh!

Does he want us to broadcast our sources?

Start with friends that throw away or eject in the grass. They will likely give it away...

Best of luck.

Many buy new in stores, and try to continually reload each until splits or other defects appear.

check auction boards as well. That or just bite the bullet. purchase some new rounds complete. then shoot them. they you will have your once fired rounds.

I take a few plastic grocerey sacks with me to the range and as I'm sweeping up my brass into a pile, I sweep up everyone elses and take it home, sort it and either trade it for what I need or sell it and get what I need then.

I bought "once" fired brass one time on Gunbroker. It was listed as once fired .243 mixed brass and 3/4 box of Nosler bullets. I still have the bullets because they are the old Zipedo solid base bullets.

The brass on the other hand was fired so many times or with hot loadings that every one had to be thrown away. They all were at a point of head seperation, most with lines visible on the outside. I got the stuff from a person with good feedback so stupid me just put it away for future use. When I did get around to using it, I discovered it was useless.

I don't buy any "once fired" brass from anyone!!!

I just bought 2000 from hddeluxe, here on THR, it was a great transaction! $45 per thousand. Sent him the money order on monday, and was fondling the cases friday, can't beat that. And they were packaged nicely in these Food Saver vacuum bags.

A local guy here in Denver contacted me on another board, and offered me "3000", for $50 per thou, all cleaned, polished and lubed. Helluva nice guy, and there were closer to 3500 cases in the bucket than 3000.

Plus, I'll pick up every case I find at every outdoor range I run across. I've cleaned up brass that most people would gag at.

Getting quite a stash built up. These are all .45's, the blue bucket are all primed cases, ready to load. And this isn't all of them, nor does it include all the ones that are already loaded, boxed and stashed. Then there's all the .40's, 9mm's, .380's, and other pistol and rifle brass I've picked up.....

Just be aware.. once fired brass doesn't always mean "Just once fired" brass! I've had generally good luck but once I had a reputable seller send me a box of "once fired" stuff that was MANY times fired! Black as hell inside the cases and lose pockets... man was I pissed.
