The greatest misconception people have is ignorance of the separation of funds and branches of the NRA. They cannot use membership dues for lobbying, fighting battles in congress, or supporting pro-gun candidates. That's what the Institute for Legislative Action and Political Victory Fund. I do occasionally contribute to the ILA. I don't contribute to PVF as I am not a single issue voter.

Since the NRA-ILA is the part that actually does the lobbying work in Congress, what are the NRA membership dues going towards? Is there a way to anonymously donate to the ILA? I don't need a magazine or a hat, and I certainly don't need any spam mail or phone calls from a membership.
