Who got a gun for Christmas?

It's called a gift.

If the buyer can legally make the purchase, and the person receiving the gift may legally own it, then it's all good
.

Thanks, If I had known that two weeks ago Mrs. LibShooter would have had a merrier Christmas.

BTW, Gander Mountain should do a better job educating their employees. My wife said that guy sent away thousands of dollars worth of sales while she was there.

So does some Cabela employees here in Missouri. There was a case here where a husband and wife went to their store. The husband seems to be a true blue American guy, born and bred (so he said); the wife came from another country. Anyway the woman, being a legal immigrant but still waiting another few months to apply for citizenship, had already bought two guns for herself. There was a bit of a problem about her buying a gun though -- with papers, what the requirements were. They went to Cabela's and she decided to buy a gun then and there. She has proper IDs apart from a bill she had paid in the last 3/4 months (it is one of the requirements...) So of course before the sale can be settled, they have to go home, get a bill and then come back to the store to show it and perhaps, maybe the background check will then be completed and they can go home -- that day!

Anyway, with the sales rep not knowing their situation, he asked them to go to the line by the gun checkout. When the woman who was doing the checking came back, the couple realized what was wrong, so HE asked the woman to cancel the order and he will just pay for the gun with his own credit card instead. You see they did not expect to buy a gun that day, they just decided right then and there and they live far from that Cabela's store. They use the same credit card company, each has the same copy of each other's credit cards in their own names. What is so hard about cancelling the order and the husband paying for it with his copy of her credit card? No one would know as they had not been to the checkout yet for anyone to buy anything yet at that stage... He argued with the woman and ended up telling the woman to stick it to wherever. Cabela just lost a sale then...

I got a gift card to Cabelas that is burning a whole in my pocket. Can not decide between another Glock, Sig, CZ or take the 1911 route.

I just got back from spending my gift money. I got a hard gun case, powder, bullets and a Bore Snake. I"m ready to go shoot when the snow melts and the road dries out in a few days.

Sounds like a lot of people had a great Chriwtman this year. This is the second year I got a gun.

I bought my own presents.

A very well kept Colt Lwt Commander from the 1970's. I intend this to take over the daily CCW duty from my Springfield Professional and two Colt Gunsite Pistols, once I get the work I want on it done.

I also bought a FN SCAR, with most of the fix'ns, Aimpoint T1 with medium mount (all Larue Tactical mounts, of course), Larue Tactical's lower swing quick release mount for my Aimpoint X3 multiplier presently on my XCR in the. I like to be able to Co-witness my reddot with my BUIS (Iron sights. I don't like the lower 1/3 that many folks do. I like it right on the irons.).I might just bite the bullet and get another Aimpoint magnifier. Still chewing on it.

Happy New Year, to all.

How much are those selling for these days? The one I saw at the store about 2 months ago was selling for $3000. I was there that day to buy a Sig 556 SWAT model for half that price.

Everything I've read about it, guys are loving the uni-rail, folding buttstock, and the ability to swap barrels. It's also being touted as one rifle to replace several different AR10 and M14 variants in the 7.62 NATO role.

Hey Fred, you are officially invited to be my secret santa from here on out. In case you were wondering, I'll go for the lower 1/3rd. :D Thanks!

No gun, but I did get a nice gun cleaning kit and pad. And a little money to go towards the AR fund, which puts me really close to ordering time.

A 581 Series Ruger Mini 14 with a Weaver K2.5 in Ruger rings with a factory 20 round magazine. I got two ProMag Polymer 20 round magazines with it as well as the factory 5 rounder that came stock.

Kind of, at least at hand anyway. My wife gave me the cash for my NRA Life Membership fee for the deal Bailey Guns offered here, and a truck oriented GPS for the semi. I got her a necklace and paid our gun club membership for 2010.
Thanks Bailey!

She was disappointed she didn't have anything to "surprise" me with, so I told her she could count the Inland Rack Grade I ordered on Christmas Eve as my "surprise" gift, I'd saved back cash out of my weekly expense money to build up to buy it.

As an "added" gift to my son, I paid for his 2010 NRA Membership when we went shooting.

Nice Mini 14 you got there, ECS!

I have always liked those. Can't say that I know too much about them though. Might have to do some research now!

Me too! Me too!

That's a nice looking Mini-14! I wish I still had my first Mini-14. Great rifle!

Anyways I got myself a Christmas present this year. Bought it the day I left on our Christmas trip and I've been dying to get home, clean it and shoot it. But of course my range, which was under almost 2 feet of snow BEFORE I left, is now under a few inches of water...

Guess I can still clean it though ;)
