Anyone have any experience with them? What's the good/bad on them? They look like an interesting design. Not the best looking gun on the block but they interest me for some reason. Where can you buy magazines for these and how much do they go for? I can't seem to find any online anywhere.

I have only seen one at an area gun shop. They have had it for well over a year now. I think they want $600 for it , and it is used. It has a decent DA/SA trigger. As far as quality, I don't know where it stands, but I decided to pass on it. From the reviews I have read it is very accurate.

i've got a feeling that rotating barrels are going to be one of the big things over the next 10-20 years. Very accurate, helps with recoil...manufacturers just need to keep refining the designs to make it less bulky. We shall see.

Ive shot only 100 rounds through it but it worked quite well with better ergonomy than Glock or HK. Friends who have K100 are usualy satisfied with it and regard it as reliable and long-lasting gun.
If you want some more info about it let me know - I would search through some Czech/Slovak forums and find any issues conected to this pistol...

Had a Grand Power K100 Mk 6, basically the same as the STI GP6

Great ergos, recoil was way less than any other 9mm I've owned or tried.

I sold it only because 9mm doesn't do a heck of a lot for me.

If I bought a 9mm again, the GP would be at the top of the list.

I had a K100, I really liked the thin grip, softened recoil and the fact that the SA trigger was crisper with a shorter reset than many out of the box 1911s I've used. Accuracy was good even with cheap ball.

Negatives were lack of a mechanical decock, a not so positive thumb safety, and quite a bit of top heaviness when not loaded with a full mag. I'd buy another in a second if only they were refined a bit more.

Where did you get it from? Was it the actual K100 or STI GP6?

I really liked the sti gp6 I handled in the gun shop. extremely short reset. nice trigger pull, good ergo's. if I didn't already have a glock, aftermarket parts, mages etc, it's the one I would get. felt cheap. and as a lefty, I really liked the ambi controls. Youngster is right about the safety though.

Bought it online, forget from who actually. It was a K100.

Anyways I forgot to add that the takedown takes some getting used to, the first time I did it it probably took me an hour to get the slide off, no joke.

The next time it took me about 5 minutes and I eventually got to the point where I could do it faster than any other pistol design.

Here's the American Handgunner article I did on it a while back. They are imported by STI of Georgetown, Texas and that company provides accessories (magazines) and full service. They now have a variation called the GP5. They are decent shooters and some of the you tube presentations show the Grand Power people shooting full auto versions the existence of which lends some credibility to the claims of durability.
I had the notion that the rotating barrel tended to remove the torque element from recoil making it more straight up than with similar pistols but I may have imagined that. I did not particularly like the plastic guide rod or the plastic front sight but these have become fairly common place on modern pistols.

I just picked my STI GP6 today. Took it out and put 200 rounds through it , it performed flawless in every way. Accuracy was unreal until about 175 rounds, then my groups went to about 3 1/2 to 4 inches at 12 yrds (still pretty dog gone good if you ask me), that was with cheap federal red box ammo (pretty dirty) ergenomics are great, The front sight is kinda hard to see in my opinion. When I was in the shop we stripped it and we didnt know if we was going to get it back together or not. we did get it back together, by the time i did it three times it went pretty good, just gotta get used to it. Over all I think its gonna be a keeper. So far I am very impressed. I got mine with an extra mag for $700 out the door. If you go to the STI website they have links to there distributors where you can find mags and stuff. One of them is Dawson Precision
