Who Has Noticed that Red Jacket can't shoot

The show is a joke. I wasn't a must watch kind of person, but when I saw horse face talking about shooting the lady's dessert Eagle 50 that she kept in her purse, I gave up on the show. They showed horse face lining up the dessert Eagle then cut to her shooting a Beretta then back to her holding the 50 and talking about the recoil. That was the last straw.

One thing that has always bothered me about the show, is that when function testing shotguns they seem to only use birdshot. Surely to save the backstop in the test range from unnecessary wear and tear, but really, how many of their Saigas are being bought to throw birdshot downrange? Show a function test with some 00, please. It was nice to see some slugs go through the rifled (ERMAGHEEEERD only two of them on the whole Earth!) Saiga this week.

To be fair, any Saiga 12 will cycle buckshot. The trick is to get them to cycle light loads.

Horse face?

These inbred hacksaw jockeys are exactly the wrong image we want to portray to the non-sport shooting world. Heaven forbid they would be turned loose on the unsuspecting public. This garbage, fake or otherwise, has it's place on Jersey Shore or Honey Boo Boo but please leave our respectable shooting sports alone. We already have enough enemies pounding at the gates without letting them in the back door.

Horse face is the girl. I saw a picture comparing her to a horse and the name has stuck.

I stopped watching Sons of Guns, but caught an episode a few days ago. When did Will start dying his hair?

I never noted how well they shot. The first time I ever watched it - it had possibilities - I noted they couldn't act, couldn't hold an intelligent conversation and showed an alarming ignorance of firearms.

I didn't watch long enough to see if they could shoot.

Wait! I did watch the episode with the professional from the Second World War operating the flame thrower. It was a pretty good episode. If the rest of that herd hadn't been in it, it might have been perfect.

Sure beats the masses being fed only grim-faced high-speed-low-drag types hammering a target all day long.

DVR the daytime soaps if you need drama. I'll take an informative and factual show over a bunch of yahoos (attempting) to act out scripted drama.

Ooh, the drama.. he hit the target! again and again.. ooh!

Another huge difference between Sons of Guns, et al and shows designed to educate.

I just don't like it when they flat out lie. They had one episode when they invented the idea of converting a Saiga into an AK configuration and adding some bolt ons then they said it would be a great idea if they started making something like that. REALLY? Like the ones you have been producing for years????

That and the drama they create for doing simple weapon mods or fabricating crap they know they can, and probably do, just buy from another vendor for a lot cheaper.

That's great. A lot of guys here have "been there, done that".. don't really need a TV show to show us how to shoot guns and whatall.

Well, I certainly don't think Red Jacket will provide much in the way of showing anyone how to "shootguns and whatall," but anyone who has "been there, done that" understands training and methodology change over time. If you feel there is nothing new you can learn, try leaving the keyboard from time to time.

I sure don't bitch and moan over a little entertainment.

I regularly pop balloons at 200 yards with my scoped AK action Saiga in .223. :neener:

P.S. I have this feeling that they are mostly shooting weapons they have just made, or testing customer's guns out that they never set the sights for. Remember, stuff like a bore sighter or some kind of laser thingie just gets you somewhere in the ballpark.

Does anybody else remember a couple years ago when "5oG 1s t3h suxz0rs" threads were all the rage? Could we not go back to that, please.
