Who has used these?

Hydrashocks spendy? I used to buy 25 round boxes of them from ATG for about $11-15 plus shipping.

I can't find them below $17 but let's use your numbers. You are saying $15 for 25 rounds of pistol ammo is a good price? I can get three times as many Winchester fmj from Walmart for that price. My point was Hydrashocks offer increased utility with increased price. The question is: if you have used the product I linked to, does it offer increased utility with increased price or is it a novelty like dragon's breath.

I've heard some decent stuff about it, but personally, I'd go with good ol Super X hollow Points. the price is right, the ammo's consistently good and hits like a freight train. Available at all my local wal marts, for CHEAP.

The wild boar description shows 19-26mm penetration, which converts into 7.5 to 10 inches penetration.

So... if you are a big fan of the "Must Have 12 Inches of Penetration" club, then these are marginal in that regard, at least in this example that they show.
This might be offset somewhat due to the multiple projectiles formed upon impact, but, then again, you get multiple projectiles from simple buckshot.

COM shot with 12 pellets of 00 buck = dead.
COM shot with Duplex round = dead.

'bout the same if you ask me.

I don't really know what utility you would gain from this type of round compared to buckshot - it would certainly be more expensive!

I think that when it comes down to brass tacks, you might as well just find a load that has brass tacks in it and use that... you'll probably get the same results as the duplex round.

IMO, even if they offer no improvement they're still a welcome development, as it's only a matter time before lead gets prohibitively expensive.

A 12 ga slug is almost 3/4" in diameter out of the bore. The last thing you need is expansion, especially fragmenting expansion. Use a Brenneke that will hold together and penetrate.

It kinda seems like they took the Judo Point concept and applied it to firearms. However Judo Points are only intended for small game and also only head shots.

I would shoot a bunch at some dead pigs or something else fleshy to see what kind of results I get before I trust a manufacturer's word on the item.

Its like the wonderbra ...

"Has anyone lately seen men not paying attention for womens ***?"

... a decent slug, is a decent slug.
I can understand maximizing effect on something
like .223 and the like ...

But it´s not like physics are able to ignore shotgun slugs.

Around here all i have seen in hunters
stashes was -Brenneke.
They use what their teacher told them
and have never had the idea to optimize that.

Optimize shot placement.

It was probably $15 actually, that's what ATG was charging for a wide variety of those boxes. And I meant 12 gauge Foster-style shotgun slugs, those hydrashocks.

Why would you compare pricing of a bizarre boutique shotgun slug to defensive pistol ammunition?

NG, I have already explained this in the third post. Clearly you do not understand what I have said. Perhaps this is my fault for not being explicitly clear.

FULL METAL JACKET 9MM
(GOOD PERFORMANCE, RELATIVELY CHEAP)
HYDRASHOCK
(BETTER PERFORMANCE, RELATIVELY EXPENSIVE)

GENERIC 12GA SLUG
(GOOD PERFORMANCE, RELATIVELY CHEAP)
HEXOLIT23
(??? PERFORMANCE, RELATIVELY EXPENSIVE)

This is called an analogy. I am asking is hexolit32 analogous to hydrashock?
I AM NOT COMPARING hydrashock and hexolit32. Perhaps I can rephrase this. Would YOU consider hexolit32 to be the hydrashock of shotgun ammo? If this post still does not make sense to you I am sorry but I have done my best.

Gotcha, I was caught up in the manufacturer's page and skimmed your posts.

I think a better analogy would be Hydra-shock, decent expansion, decent penetration, ordinary price, to Quick-Shock/Safety Slug, majorly expensive, shallow penetration, wide wounds, hard to find.
