You mean like Winchester took the 7.62 X 51 NATO & called it the .308 Winchester? I mean, heck, if we were limited to only what gun manufacturers or ammo companies developed on their own, think of all the fantastic cartridges we'd be missing out on.

I roll my own for my 260 but I have used Federal 120gr nosler BT on deer and coyotes. I shot a deer in the neck at 100 yds and had a pencil sized entrance and a quarter sized exit. I also shot a coyote at about 125 as he was facing me and hit him in the neck and it left a fist sized exit out the back of the neck. I used 142gr SMKs on deer both shot in the neck one at 100 and one at 150yds no exit at all. I have shot a coyote broadside at 300yds with a 123gr Amax and it left a baseball sized exit out the chest.
