Who is selling USA new .223/5.56 practice ammo at a good price?

Federal stuff is probably what your going to find for US made ammo at decent prices. There are a few US makers that I would not touch with a 10 foot pole (usually the reloaders).

Black Hills is one reloading company I trust. They make some stuff at alright prices.

They handle it fine. We use it as training ammo for our patrol rifles (M16A1s, no fun switch). We have several hundred rifles in use, each one with many many rounds of the Hornady stuff down the pipe. AFAIK, no issues with the ammo. The only malfunctions I have seen were magazine-related (replace the bad mag, the problem vanishes).

Now, the rifles are cleaned thoroughly after a training session, but some of our training sessions have involved hundreds of rounds through each gun, so it's not like we're babying them. Cleaning wasn't a huge deal, either. Not like there were pounds of sludge in there from the lacquer.

I just bought a couple thousand rounds of the stuff, myself.

Walmart sells the 100 round box of Federal for $39.95 has been good ammo for me.

Palmetto State and Gander Mountain are running 100ct boxes of American Eagle 55g FMJ at $29.99

GM also had 1,000ct bulk boxes of Federal for $299.

Just checked tomorrow's Academy ad online (Academy is a US company) and they have their Monarch steel .223 on sale for $3.99/20. I know some people don't like steel, but I really dig those prices and they work just fine in my son's M&P 15.

The best deal for brass case going is on gunbroker.

900 round boxes of M193 on stripper clips for $260. If you want steel case AIM has the best deal, $199 per case of Wolf or $210 per case of 62gr Silver Bear.

I believe it's aimsurplus that has Silver Bear 62gr HP for right at $110 or so for 500 rounds. It shoot much better than wolf.
