Who made it??

I just bought a 1851 Colt copy, nice looking C&B.
Stamped on barrel is "EIS Navy" can some one tell who or where it was made??

EIS Navy is not a mark I'm familiar with. Would it be possible o post a picture of the stamp?

Most of the replica Civil War revolvers available today were made by Italian firms: Pietta, Uberti, Armi San Paolo/Euroarms, Armi San Marco, Pedersoli and Palmetto. Each puts a distinctive manufacturer's mark on the gun in one or two places; the locations vary with when the gun was made and the manufacturer's wishes.

Look under the loading lever near the point where the barrel enters the frame, on the side of the frame above the trigger guard and on the bottom of the gun just in front of the trigger guard.

EIS is likely not the manufacturer but rather the importer or distributor; many distributors buy the guns in large lots and mark them with their own ID in addition to the Italian manufacturer's marks.

Man was I wrong that manufacture (Beginning December 31, 2001, Armi San Paolo officially became Euroarms Italia S.r.l.)
After looking at that link again my gun was made in 1967
and looking at the pictures the stamp is EIG NAVY, yes an importer
still not sure who made it.

In that period, Eig imported many firearms, including small, very inexpensive handguns. AFAIK, Eig is the name of the owner of the company, not an abbreviation. The company has been out of business for years.
