I'm building up a 6.5 Grendel carbine...I have all the parts but when it comes up to the flash hider, I noticed that the barrel threads that Alexander Arms uses are called out as 9/16-24tpi. In my internet searches, I don't see any flash hiders or other muzzle devices that are of this thread type. .223 type muzzle devices are ½"-28 tpi and .308/6.8 SPC are 5⁄8"-24 tpi.

Which should I use or is there a specific muzzle device that I'm not seeing? My preference is the Vortex or Phantom style flash hider.

We've done them before. It's a less common thread but still common enough that we keep taps on hand for it. We could do one of our KA-1222 brake/suppressor units for 6.5, we got the right reamers.

Yes, unfortunately they are RH thread...inch FALs were RH but there aren't many "modern" FH designs for the inch FAL.

Thanks for the heads up, kingjoey...I'll look through your sight.

For backup, I just sent a standard 1/2"-28 YHM Phantom FH to ar15barrels.com to be rebored and rethreaded to a 9/16-24 RH and opened up >0.264".
