Son is headed back to Afghanistan, called and said their Guard Unit is short Beretta 92F magazines. The few they have are problematic and not reliable. Last deployment I sent him some high performance mag springs from Brownells, and will do so again. He wants some new 15 round magazines....who makes the best?

Mecgar USED to make the factory mags in years past. Now MDS.

factory, MDS or Mecgar is all youw ant to go with

The 18 round Mec Gar AFC (anti friction coating) mags are what I would suggest. They are flush fitting and get 3 more rounds by redesigning the follower to allow the spring to teloscope into the follower (like Glock mags). The 20 rounders are fine, but are extended and I prefer flush fitting. 44mag.com carries them too.

Beretta also has some "sand resistant" mags on their site. They carry a premium price and I'm not sure what makes them better for the sand box.

Definitely Mec-Gar Optimum AFC from 44mag.com. I've tried all the good ones and the Mec-Gar Optimum is the best. Otherwise go with Beretta "PB" sand mags or MDS factory magazines.
