Most of the shoulder holsters I see are horizontal, and I am looking for a vertical. I know Bianchi makes a vertical shoulder hoster, but who else?

I would like to limit discussion to vertical shoulder holsters only.

That link does not seem to work, but I have looked at that holster. Has anyone actually used it? It does not have a belt tie down and would seem to me that it would flop around a lot.

An older Safariland 100 (for autos) or 101 (for revolvers), found on ebay for 20-30 bucks is a great deal. Very flat, and reasonably comfortable.

The best vertical shoulder holsters for revolvers used a wide, flat spring that wrapped around the cylinder. Later designs had a vertical wire spring that ran most of the length of a clamshell pouch and the end of the barrel sometimes resisted while making a draw. The advantage of the wire spring was that it was less expensive to make.

One of our members, Robbt, has a stock of new, but older shoulder holsters that have the flat spring. He might have something for a Smith & Wesson N-frame/4", but the 3" is less likely. Also his prices are much less then you might expect. You will find him in the "Accessories for Sale" sub-forum.

These days it is difficult to find vertical shoulder holsters for revolvers, and expensive when you do. Robbt may be able to offer something better, for less. ;)

Lou Alessi designed Field Master is the best - period.

I hear ALessi's widow will continue to have Lou's designs
produced. is that true?

Also, El Paso Saddlery make several models check the web site.

FIST makes excellent holsters. Great quality and a great price. Call them and tell them exactly what you want.

actually it's his daughter and the new owner who are now running the company...they've moved the factory.

i am a huge fan of the Alessi Fieldmaster for long barreled revolvers.

for shorter barreled guns, i like the Ken Null SMZ...you can tell that i'm drawn to shoulder holster that are a little "different"
