Who on here POCKET carries a 9mm?

I tried the Kahr PM9. Junk out of the box. Kahr did fix it but refused to foot the bill for shipping. About 300 rounds after the fix and it seems OK. Still, it's my old 60 for true protection. I'll take the extra weight in exchange for a certain bang if I need it.

I pocket carried a Kahr PM9 for a couple of years, but went back to the J-Frame Revolver for pocket carry.

The main reason behind the switch was because I'd found the magazine release had been pressed while the gun was in my pocket, one too many times, giving me a one shot uber-pistol. Yes, I used a Pocket Holster.

I haven't had that problem with the J-Frame.

LCP or PM45

Either front pocket carry a Ruger LCP in a DeSantis Superfly (best pocket holster IMHO) or Kahr PM-45 in a Kahr pocket holster (comes with with stiff Velcro attachable flap), or use a High Noon pocket (better fit than Kahr holster). Taking the High Noon to a cobbler to have Velcro sewn to the top edge so I can use the Kahr holster stiffener to lessen imprinting. Thinking about calling it the Kahr-Noon. Both of these fit OK in business slacks and look like another wallet but disappear in cargo pockets.

I have pocket carried my Steyr S-9 & M-357, M&P 357c, and P2000SK 357/40 in various Uncle Mikes but the LCP wins for portability and the Kahr for size vs. firepower. Best overlooked concealed carry is Universal holster (one word .com). It uses a cell phone or dummy clip and fits between your FOTL (Fruit of the Looms) and your pants left of centerline for right handers. It can make any gun up to about 1911 size hard to spot but drawing takes some practice to pull out as modified crossdraw, comfy to wear though as it's soft leather and doesn't bind or pinch.

Usually carried in a Desantis Nemisis but am planning on changing to a Desantis Super Fly as I love the one for my Kel-Tec P-3at.

I carry a PM9 in jeans all the time without any problems. I have had no problems with the reliability after initial break in, but I am obsessive about cleaning and lubing it. I clean and lube it at least twice a month anymore.

Breakdaddy. I don't think that is obsessive when one carrys in a pocket. Twice a month is probably no more than I do either and my PM9 rides in my front pocket 24/7. Not sure one can over over clean a weapon, course I shoot my PM9 alot. It is just a fun gun for me to shoot. (16,000 rounds)

Pump, nice work!

Do it yourself or have a 'smith do it?

DIY project.

As most know the factory Kel Tec finish isn't much to write home about. Orginally it was a blued version and it didn't much like the florida heat and humidity. I finally got tired of constant oil care and decided to do a duracoat finish.

The slide from the factory had alot of hard edges. Most notably the slide cut-outs in the front and around the ejection port.

I used a combination of a dremel tool with diamond griding bits and sanding drums to rough out the shape. Then on to silicone polishing bits and felt polishing wheels, then wet sanded with 240 and 320 grit sand paper and finally a glass bead blast to give a slightly textured surface.

After prep the slide and slide stop got a duracoat treatment. The barrel was glass bead blasted and then cold blued.

Even though the gun is functional the next day I gave it 3 weeks in the safe to allow the duracoat to fully cure before test firing and putting back into my carry rotation.

I have not had any rust issues at all and the Duracoat holds up great.

My P-3at also got the same treatment after the Pf-9 was complete:

I repeat myself, NICE!

Is the frame always that black or did you paint it? Always seems a bit more blue/dark grey to me.

That is the stock frame color, both are relatively new s/n's though so they might have changed more recently.

Keltec PF9. With the belt clip option you can even clip it in your underwear because it is so light. I carry one all the time in either the cargo pant leg pocket or ft pant pocket. In a Blackhawk IWB #4 there is no patterning at all.

This one in a small pocket....
