I have a Ruger 3 screw (that's been converted). It holds a special place in my heart for various reasons. I've never been fond of the trigger pull but it is mechanically sound. I'd like to get it refinished and get some action work done. I'd like to have the frame case color hardened and other parts a deep beautiful blue. id also like to add a steel grip and ejector shroud. The "Jeff Quinn" special at Clements Custom is kinda what I had in mind.

Who would y'all recommend (besides Clements) and how much can I expect to pay?

O agree. The first one I would call is Turnbull. Does great work but pricey.

Short of that, try our own Mayor Maynot Killya. He is here on SASS and he can guide you or do it himself

I've got a turnbull 1886 that my dad had done before his passing. Yes, too notch work, but a little too pricey for this project

Clements uses Turnbull so if you get a Jeff Quinn special, you're getting Turnbull colors. Most other `smith's use them as well. Last I checked, Clements was backlogged quite a while. I've used Jim Stroh of Alpha Precision and he is excellent and to me, his front sight is the best looking available. His work will be a little higher but I do consider him to be a better gunsmith. Jack Huntington quoted me six months on a full .500JRH conversion so you might try him. There's also Ben Forkin, Alan Harton, Hamilton Bowen, Andy Horvath, John Gallagher and a bunch of others.
