Alive or dead. Can be a writer, manufacture, dealer or whatever.
I go with Norman Flayderman [best know as the author of antique American guns and their values.]
What a life. In the golden days of gun collecting 50's 60's 70's and beyond he owned a mail order only gun outlet that handled antique American arms-and did so very successfully. As a result he handled thousands of rare guns some well known, others only known by a handful of examples. His range of knowledge ran from colonel flintlocks to 1903 Springfield's
As a result, he became the premier authority on the subject and was called in to appraise such collections as the Colt and Winchester museum's
Not content with being just a author and .gun appraiser, he hunted and fished 6 continents.
I could live that life.
