I READ THIS THREAD WITH GREAT INTEREST
My only Taurus is a PT22, and it's been flawless since I 'broke' it in.
No parts needs.
However, I'd heard rumors of poor service years ago (the parts kind) but chalked it up to modern "McDonald's Mentality".
I am patient.
But after reading this (and laughing) it sounds like Taurus is in the business of selling guns. Only.
The rest of it, to them, appears to be 'just details'.
That said, apparently they do a fair job with warranty service, because they'd be crushed with complaints if they were unable to process repairs in a timely fashsion. After all, that appears to be the major selling point -- "Great Warranty".
Handled a brand new 85 real recently; seemed 'tight-n-right'.
And since I've mentioned it before I'll tell the "EAA story":
My first, a small-frame x19, was wildly inaccurate. Yet, shooting a friend's TZ, I could hit hit hit.
So I called EAA and they said "That's nice".
Hmmm.
Bob Cogan did a super job fixing that; hard-fit Nowlin tube. Still awesome.
Stock bore slugged at .3596"; not conducive to optimum accuracy (read that 'broad side of world').
Then I (with a used 9 in between) got a 45 version, but it was completely totally unreliable, regardless of ammo choice (see signature).
Yet, it was SO accurate that I couldn't part with it.
So I called EAA and they said "That's nice".
I said "but but but" and they said "send it in if you want, whatever" (insert teenaged girl tone here) so I said "no" and put a 38 Super top end on it.
Someday I'll fix the 45 ACP portion of this gun.
Not too bad, but not great either.
