Why do you Concealed Carry?

Howdy folks. It may seem like a silly question, but I have to ask after my conversation at work today. My buddy was talking about his concealed carry license. He's getting enough permits to carry in about 1/2 of the US. As a non CCL holder, I began to ask him questions...The typical, have you ever had to draw, and do you have any strange stories associated with your CCL? He said the reason he has a CCL is mostly just to buy pistols in MN without having to put them in a locked box (he drives a truck and doesn't have a trunk). When I get back to my home state of ND, I'm getting my CCL and I'm going to carry everywhere; mostly because meth has started to dig its nasty roots in my area and if I have to protect my family from some tweaker, a baseball bat or a pair of fists won't quite do the job.

Keeps my options open. I can be just as polite and civil with a gun as without, but having a gun gives me a fallback plan in case civility or de-escalation doesn't work.

And yes, my life has been in danger more than once.

I wish I could carry (Not gonna happen where I live) I have never drawn a gun but there have been a couple times where I could have easly justified.

Why do you Carry?

Like I always say: "When seconds count, the police are just 10 minutes away!"

I carry b/c it is my right (use 'em or lose 'em)
I carry b/c I have a family to protect
I carry b/c criminals carry
I carry b/c it's my social responsibility to protect the weak from being victimized by the strong
I carry sometimes just to pi$$off liberals

And mostly I carry just because I can

I carry a gun because I can't carry a cop. I have 4 daughters and a wife, and I am unwilling to allow some idiot to hurt them, or render them fatherless.

No, I've never needed it, and I hope to go on not needing it for the rest of my life. Still, if the occasion ever arises where I _do_ need a weapon, I will be properly equipped.

Why

Why do you lock your house doors, you don't expect to have a forced entry but just in case you lock your doors. Why do you wear a helmet when riding your bike, just in case. Why do yor carry a concealed weapon, just in case. Hind sight after a serious incident can really suck.

Why do you Concealed Carry?

Because it helps keep dirt and sawdust out of my gun and holster when I'm working outside, such as cutting wood.

Also, in the winter it is easier to keep my gun under my coat and overalls rather than trying to wear a belt around the outside of my coat. Helps keep blowing snow out of the gun, too - and it is not so cold to the touch.

For the same reasons I vote, have car insurance, and own at least one fire extinguisher.

Not because I hope to need it, but because if I do need it... it's the right tool for the job.

Why do I concealed carry?

Well that's a simple question. I concealed carry because it is allowed more places than open carry for one, and second because when I carry my rifle around I get funny looks like this , even though it makes me !
