Other than the fact that my dog won't let me, I love getting up at dawn and looking for critters or just taking in the scenery. This was yesterday morning, I got a kick out of the effect of the fog:

No, not really. More like west of Fort Collins. Good fishing up there too. But it's all very similar country

If I don't see the sun come up over the prairre horizon and shine light on the "faces" in the Black Hills I feel like half the day is gone. Coyotes sounding off, turkeys gobbling in the crick bottom and deer sneaking thru my draw headed to cover for the day. Urbanites: eat your hearts out. LOL.

I've been wide awake at 4am for the last 40 years....go in early, enjoy some wildlife during thr ride. Mainly, I fight problems before the work day starts.
Funny, I never have a problem getting out of camp during a season.

Beautiful. I wish I knew the reason I was put in Texas. I'd much rather wake up to that.

Ah, Texas ain't bad if you live in the right place. I'm still trying to get relocated to the hill country. Ain't like THAT, though.

Here's a pic I took out of the windshield on our trip to oregon. We got home Thursday of last week. We saw lots of pretty stuff, this being Mt Hood on a clear day. We came back via Crater Lake and Moab, Utah, drove up on 550 through Durango/Silverton/Ouray to Grand Junction.

just like Texas, eh?

Side note, are you guys going through the same beetle kill epidemic up there that we are down here?
