Why is my arm bruised and not my shoulder ??

Jumping with parachutes out of perfectly functioning airplanes? Insanity!
The only reason to jump with a parachute from an airplane is if the airplane is no longer flyable.
After packing parachute a few times, I reached the conclusion (Along with my Sergeant) that I should not be packing parachutes.

And yes, you should not jump out of perfectly flying airplanes.

Well both triggers on a 16ga would be equivalent to an 8ga. If there were such a thing, the rounds i have are 3.5 dram equiv so pretty strong as well. Thats probably another reason why even with 1 shot at a time the 16ga hurts way more than my 590 12ga mossberg. Well the mossberg has a nice factory rocoil pad too but still.

Lever isnt to the left its fine, and ive seen videos by a old english gunsmith in how to repair this if it ever happens.. Id fix it myself. Just like i fixed the broken trigger levers and the safety spring. And the stock.

I do everything myself. Its been 17 years since ive had anyone fix anything for me. Be it house repairs. Cars. Or anything. Im the type to rebuild my own car engine. Or learn to weld and repair rust properly. You should see the classic car i restored by myself bottom up. Im not your average Joe who doesnt have the skill set or mindset to do things like this.

But i hear you.. I wont do both again. Again it mainly was to see if my repairs would hold and they did, the gun is ok. Remember alot of people said it couldnt be fixed when i mentioned i called around. And i did it in 3 days.. and it held up to 30 shots including both barrels twice. Well see how it holds up in the future though, but ill be sure to stay with lead bird shot and one barrel at a time

There is such a thing as a 8 gauge. I don't have one. But I do have a 4 bore. That's a 4 gauge rifle. It shoots a 4 ounce ball with 16 drams of powder. It does not have any recoil pad at all. Just a metal butt plate. Recoil is a bit more than both triggers on a 16 gauge. Actually it is more than double the recoil of a 600 Nitro Express. I fired it a few times today. I have never gotten a bruise from it. You need to use the right technique to fire the big guns. It only comes from practice and working your way up to it over time. I have fired both barrels of a 12 gauge. I have also fired a 8 bore rifle. The recoil from both barrels of a 12 gauge is not even close to the recoil of an 8 bore rifle.

Yes. But did you fire it 30 times. And then another 50 from your 12ga. I shot alot that day lol. But i hear you. Ill try to posotion the gun further away from my arm

Yeah, I've had really bad bruises to my shins from a dirt bike accident. I was fine except for my shins were super bruised. A few days later I noticed the bottoms of feet turned black, like a bad bruise. It was what other said, dead blood falling by gravity to the bottom of my feet. Really freaked me out.
But, I've had many a shoulder bruise from really light rifles and 3" shotgun shells.

I had blood drawn once, 3 vials, she got vein on first stick. next day i had a 3" bruise in the middle of my forearm and my shoulder ached. 3 days later the bruise was from my wrist up to my elbow. My arm was not tender or anything, but my shoulder was killing. Took 2weeks for bruise to go away and pain in shoulder to stop. Blood pooling does weird things.

Watch the video you posted. It goes back, then slides along the shoulder outward and hits the arm. Not uncommon when shooting unpadded shotguns off of shoulders clad in slick materials like the Hawaiian shirt you're wearing in the pic.
1. When shooting such guns, don't pull both triggers. I used to do so when I was young (18-20) with a Savage 311 16 ga. and I have an arthritic knob on my RH trigger finger knuckle as a prize.
2. Wear clothing that is not slick; cotton t-shirt in summer, and maybe a trap vest with a gel pad inserted. Rayon Hawaiian shirt, while looking cool, are not your best option. If the gun has a hard plastic or horn butt pad, a shooting vest/shirt with the leather roughed side out is your best choice. There is a reason you see all those nattily dressed English "country gentlemen" wearing sweaters with rough leather shoulder patches on them.
3. Prepare yourself for that kind of recoil! Lean forward from the hips-If you do this you form a pocket that the stock is less likely to slip out of and whap your bicep.

If you watch the video sped up to 2x, you'll notice it slides out to the arm first, then whaps you on the cheek form the second shot. Ouch!
I shoot RST 2 1/2" shells in my 1928 Sauer 16 ga. , and it still kicks, but I haven't fired both barrels at once; it weighs just over 6 lb., one barrel at a time is enough for me.
